I saw the 1st night of coventry via satellite last night...I thought it was awesome (probably part of the reason is that they played "David Bowie"). Anyways I'm very jealous I'm not there right now!! And 2night has got to be sweet! If anyone saw the show tell me what u thought???? Any song predictions for 2nights show??????
I also saw the show via satelitte and wow. It was an amazing time. David Bowie was possibly the highlight. Amazing show but tonite should be better.
Guess you guys didn't hear about the mud and the ticket holders being turned away. They could not drag any more cars through the mud to get them in, so they shut the gates and turned people around. I don't know any numbers, but I'm sure hundreds of people that have tickets are not allowed to get in. Via satellite I bet it looks great, but the people who bought tickets and can't get in don't think that way I'm sure. Bob
Yea, Im definitley glad that Im seeing it through the simulcast. Anyway the music was awesome last night, amazing setlist, amazing jams. Tonight theres got to be a mikes>hydrogen>groove, tweezer, and I want a Wilson! What do you think the encore will be?
Heh, no they were turning cars away. 2,500 cars were ditched on the highway and they walked up to twelve miles to get there. They think around 6,000 people walked. All 2,500 cars were towed. The state is going to get a ton of money to get them out. There are some dedicated fans.
shit man, I was THERE! got back today (monday). let me tell you all that even though both nights at conventry were solid with some amazing moments, the best phish show i've ever seen was two nights back in Mansfield (the second show). go read the set list for THAT one and you'll see why!
I was there, and am glad that I was. But it was probably a lot better on simulcast. The mud sucked ass. Traffic/parking on the interstate sucked. And the volume at the venue was way too low. You didn't have to deal with the negatives, and got a performance that you could hear and see much better.
I also heard only 12 cars towed, and they were all blocking something. Nobody got towed simply for parking, even if it was on the shoulder of the interstate.
yeah, not too many cars ended up getting towed. There were still a ton of cars deserted on the road when I was heading home monday.
ya i saw both via satelite and i have to say i am glad i did instead of trying to get all the way to coventry. my friends who went said they wish they just stayed in austin/dallas and watched it there
I really liked the Hood encore that first night though. By then Trey had recovered from his supposed substance abuse I guess, and I thought Hood was good. But a lot of people left before the encore that night. Lots of tired people at Coventry. Hiking 18+ miles is not conducive to enjoying a show after all that trekking.
