I love to draw. I'm at art freak! Doodling, painting, sketching, penwork , everything. Pen and pencils to Photo and Paintshop. Thing is, I kinda suck -_-. I mean, I can say I am better than a lot of ppl. but not good enough to show it off or anything. I LOVE to draw anime/manga ( attempt to draw anyway) but again, i kinda suck. My proportions are off, i cant even look at one picture on the computer screen, like of a leg, and draw the shape right on my paper lol sad, but true. Anyway, I'm looking up tutorials for basic anime design and drawing. Suggestions or thoughts?
Oh yea, by the way, I can paint, and draw with pastels etc very well, but just not drawing. I dont want to do it as a profession or anything, I just want to be good lol
There are always good books at the library about drawing, with exercises in them. Art is personnal...what one says 'sucks', another will spend their money on. It is a form of self expression, just try some exercises, and get your perception down and be free with it. I have a book called 'Paint Happy' that has helped me so much. Also another called 'Celebrate Your Creative Self', I found I was so concerned about the end result that I couldn't let things flow. These are books on painting but there are good one's on drawing also. "Drawing with the right side of the brain'.. is good. Sometimes all you need is a bit of encouragement,the people on this forum are really good about encouragement if you care to let us have a peek. teepi
