Is this mold? (photo)

Just got a bag and this one bud is different colored than the rest. It more of a purplish color, but I don't know if thats mold or not.

 

looks like some blueish nug. mold is more of a white/green spindly lookin bitch

 

Yeah it just looks like some good weed. Do yourself a favor and blaze that shit.

 

Ive had buds like that before. Ive only seen mid grade bud before that was like that and I remember we could sell it for like $35 an 1/8 when it was worth like $15. Though the bud in the picture looks good so, I guess theres not much to complain about it, looks nice.

P.S what kinda camera are you shooting with? I can never get closeups to look clean like that!

It looks like a pic someone would find on google... I kinda dought that he could get a closeup like that, and I dought anyone is stupid enough to think that was mold...

 

Well I just was curious because like I said, the rest of the buds look totally normal and I've never seen moldy weed to correctly identify it. BTW, its a canon powershot S2 which has a super-macro feature, thats how the shot is so close. Thanks for the replies everyone.

 

some plants will turn purplish, blueish....i've heard it can also be artificially influenced by the environment the plant is subjected to during flowering.

its nothing to worry about. mold wouldnt cause a discoloration of the pot itself, the color is natural. mold would be growing on the bud, it would add to the mass, probabably be fuzzy and gross.

this bud is just a different color. happens sometimes....a lot of people are particularly fond of blue and purple buds, even though they have no real correlation with quality other than visual quality.

i think they're neat, but i've also smoked lousy mids that were all dark, natural purple. they were good mids, but they were just mids. all purple, but not amazing at all.

the color has no bearing on the strength or anything, but its cool, and nothing to worry about.

 

and while the color doesnt reflect the quality, that still looks like some pretty good pot!

Sorry, I re read your first post, and I noticed that you said it was only one bud in a bag you got. I'd be pretty scetchy aswell now that I think about it, but if I got a bud that looked like that I would know right then and there that it's a good bud. Possibly your dealer felt like throwing in a nice present. Looks fire though.

 

definitely not mold.... just looks like to purps to me. if you had anything to worry about, it would be PM (powder mildew) which is white and dusty.

by the way, daaaamnn.. that shit isnt trimmed at all! that sucks.

still looks tasty though.

I know. It looks like it was just grown thay way though; you know, some buds are mor dense than others and whatnot. It looks to me like it's just leafy all the way through.

Well put, color is over-rated IMO. A nice dank, light green color is what i desire I've had many a blueberry and purple strain, that wasn't even blue or purple, just a nice green. Still has all the taste and potency, the color just isn't there.

A leafy pheno or strain can be quite meticulous to trim, but it can be done. Just takes ALOT more time. Alot of growers that grow commercially leave leafs on to add weight. While this is not a bad thing, as they are generally bud leafs with plenty of trichs, you still get a slight leaf taste with it. At first i was quite picky in having only buds, but now that i've trimmed many a bud, i usually end up leaving a good bit of bud leafs, if i had bubble bags....it would be a different story
