What happened in the 70's is very different that what goes on now. ALL of our pigeons are adopted out unless they become sick (only happened once and the pigeon was 12 years old). The rats we keep their whole life because we test effect of aging also. Working with these animals they are very unique. They have personalities and I talk to all of them they are smart animals and I really enjoy working with them.

PETA is ridiculous, as you can see for yourself in this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=l9ijLulwUTY

Please, watch the whole thing. Just ignore Penn and Teller's humor and really see the facts.

Anywas, things are a lot different than they used to be with testing, it's still 100 percent necessary though. I don't agree with people testing on animals if they could do the same researc without killing an animal.

Ultimately it's our fault as consumers that they test on animals, if we didn't have such over population and demand for certain products that take a lot of experimentation (candies, etc..) they wouldn't test because there would be no product. I agree, you should boycott because they're testing and that could make them stop testing, it's not their fault they're testing though, as consumers it's our fault. We buy, buy, buy so they have to test, test, test for our safety. Otherwise, they would be filled with medical lawsuits from the same activists who would have protested against them testing on animals. Then, those activists would be protesting because the M&Ms they ate made their throats sweel up or something.

People need to think properly and understand how things work, don't just look at it as killing animals, ooo bad... look deep into it and think about it's path.

The chimps who have survived so far are STILL being used for HIV testing, they are still in those godawful collars for hours a day.
these are animals that COMMUNICATE in HUMAN language, have complex thinking skills and can even truly paint, not like the swish-swash of the elephant paintings, but an attempt at realism.

the rats in YOUR lab might have it a touch better, but most experiment animals live a short, painful life, unless they are monkeys or apes.

I can't imagine the adopt a pigeon market is that big.
I think you are telling what you need to hear to live with what you perpetuate.

I don't have a problem boycotting Mars products. Hershey has ended their animal testing some time ago. If I need a chocolate fix I'll buy a Hershey bar.

In all honesty the things they test on anaimls people use!!!
I dont agree with testing on animals but because there are so many rights with people its not possible to test on people, so saying they should test drugs on the scientists/prision inmates is just fucked up.

You live in a country that was basically built on slavery, same concept.

If you talking about convicts that was a long time ago. Australia's population did not expand greatly until after WW2.
I don't think Cadbury's uses slave harvested cocoa beans?

I think it's a matter of asking corporations how they operate. Think they'll be honest? Doesn't really matter with the internet, we'll find out.

I think once I'm done eating this fried squirrel, I'll have me a bag of M&M's.

I'd much rather 1 million animals die than 1 human.

So how many animals do you equate to a human life?
