The ads on MySpace have been well-known for containing viruses. And MySpace has been well-known for not doing anything about it.

there are fake ads, sendt as comments yes that have viruses or are used for fishing, but myspace works constantly to combat that. but the hackers keep changing theyre tactics & staying 1 step ahead
but myspace does constantly try to prevent this.
the real problem is ppl keep clicking em.

Don't myspace threads get deleted? I started one once, and it got deleted. Free speech at its best.

Actually there are some now that you don't have to click and it tries to open and execute a certain file. It will execute on a Windows machine and run some nasty code. I have seen it try to execute code on my Linux box but Linux doesn't allow that kinda stuff.

I did a lot of research about this stuff and MySpace for a college class and I also did a 30 minutes speech about it. My major is Information Security so I suggest you take my advice about this.

    *edit*
I'm grabbing some links now to source what I'm talking about.

That should be enough to make my point. I'm not trying to offend you, I just want people to be well informed about what is actually going on.

Myspace is littered with spyware because people think all these layout sites and gadget sites are doing them a favour providing freebies, but theyre not, they are providing viruses and spyware, rootkits etc.
The whole thing should be called mywasteofspaceandtime.com
