This morning I woke and the sun was gone,

Alone in darkness through which light had once shone

I reached for you to comfort me,

But in place all I found was a memory

I remember good times and places we went,

How I’ve loved you and each moment we’ve spent

Piercing the gloom I see your face,

And in my heart I’ll keep a place

A place in time so I’ll never forget,

How special it felt the moment we met

Love truly is blind this I can see,

For somehow I thought you could also love me

Now it seems I must let you go,

It hurts so much but it’s better I know

Trying to keep you is like caging a bird,

With wings to soar it would be absurd

I’ll wait for you for as long as I can,

And for the day we fly together again

    Missing you,

    Michael
