^If your being shaky thats going to make them suspicious. I have been in front of about 6 cops with bloodshot eyes and I was drunk. I just acted totally sober and told them i was sober. They totally believed me, they didnt even breathalize me those stupid pigs lol. I wasnt shaking at all either. Just remember they do not know your high. So pretend your not! If u do not have any bud or paraphanilia on you and they ask to search your car, let them. If you say no its going to make them more suspicious.

Most definately let them search your car if you don't got anything on you. That would be way to suspicous if you did.

1 thing I can say, if you're in a town you're in alot, and it's not a overly big one where the cops might remember, if they ask to search you and you know you have nothing on you or in the car, let them go for it, they may remember that if you ever get pulled over again.

Obviously don't let them if you do though.

In response to TheMadcapSyd, if you let them search, and you get pulled over again, but this time with stuff in the car, and you say no and they remember that you previously had let them search, say that last time they took too long/messed up your car and that you don't want to go through that again.

    why should you be scared?

can the police even do anything for just being high?

i know in NY there is no DWI law for weed... so i dont think anything would happen, but it might be different in your state.

as long as your not packin dont worry about it.

The only "test" cops can give is the pen test. I've failed it three times, and only gotten charged once, and the case fell through.

Pretty much they have you follow a pen with your eyes while they move it around. If your eyes twitch or move erratically it means you have smoked in the last 24 hours. But I tested a friend who doesn't smoke and he did just as poorly as my friend who did smoke so I don't know. They probably do it to make you seem more guilty and perhaps get a confession.

    hmm maybe there is idk.

its happened to my friend before, he just admitted he was high, and they searched his car, didnt find anything. so he just got his traffic ticket and was on his way...

come to think of it, i know quite a few people whove been pulled over when high... if there is laws (seems like there would be in all states idk), they are definitely not enforced much. not in NY anyways.

That's NY though, the same place where anything less then an ounce is just a ticket and you're on your way. Most states driving high is considered operation a motor vehicle under influence.

i didnt think there was a separate law... driving under/ while influence is all the same in my book. I knew somebody who would drive with her foot out the window (terrifying)
but i don't drive anyway. there are very few people I trust to drive while high, and even then i get super nervous.
I guess you should just relax, wait for them to ask for your license/ registration and all that. you are allowed to be nervous, nobody likes getting pulled over.
best bet- dont speed or run stop signs or lights or hit anybody or forget to wear your seatbelt. or illegal turns. or u turns....

I don't drive yet but I can't see myself wanting to drive high. If you're worried about them giving you a sobriety test or something then just try a different way of getting around instead (bus, bike etc) if possible. If you must drive just use eyedrops and make sure you don't smell.

There is no legitimate test to see if you are high. They cannot give you a "breathalyser" honestly if i didn't have anything in my car, i would say no just be a dick to the cops. If i had shit then i'd let them search so they wouldn't be suspicious and probably wouldn't find it (i hide stashes well)

I can handle cops when im stoned, it's when i'm drunk theres a problem

You can get a DUI on a bike and I have seen pigs do it a lot in my area. Also they could bust you if you were causing a disturbance on a bus.

I regularly ride my bike to and from my buddies house for parties where I'm going to be drinking. He lives about 4 miles away from me so its a short 15 min ride or so. One occation I was riding home after drinking more beer than I would want to be driving with in my system. I got lit up by a cop because I had a backpack on and it looked suspicious??? At least thats what he told me.

After I showed him I just had a change of clothing, a spare light battery, and my leftover beer in my bag he asked if I had been drinking. I was honest and told him that the main reason why I was riding my bike was because I had been drinking. Then he asked where I lived? I told him I was about halfway home and had about 2 miles to go. Then he informed me that it is agains the law to operate a bike intoxicated. He then immediatly followed up with "But you dont look like your too intoxicated. Just keep in mind that some officers wont be as forgiving as me." But yes this confirms the fact that there are DUI charges for biking.

This is NYS by the way
