yup thats corruption.....what can ya do eh? Lotto goes towards funding the school systems anyways so I guess you cant really complain too much about that. But I do think its ridiculous how society is ignorant to others needs. Not wants but needs.

Dude, you're lucky yourself. Whatever the case may be, our lives are always more fortunate than others. It's time to start not taking things for granted. It's only a matter of time before you know what you're missing before it's gone.

How come you can sit here using a computer when if you sold it you could feed probably 20 starving kids for a week. Did you ever buy branded clothes? when you could have bought second hand stuff from a charity shop and given the money you saved to a homeless shelter? Maybe stop having a go at other people for how they distribute thier wealth and look a little closer to home, try to think of how you spend your time and money before you start throwing stones.

i kno what u mean Stieny..

but you cant compare someone who won 100 million dollars in da lotto to someone who bought a good computer and branded clothes instead of giving it to charity..

if someone has millions of dollars (even if they worked hard for it) they should at least put some money aside for charity, maybe theyre pocket change i bet thatll add up to like 2000 a year haha..

Yeah man, definitely sucks. Then again, it just goes to show you how fortunate you really are. Besides, people who horde their riches and fame all to themselves are probably just compensating for something anyway - it's probably their last piece of rope to grab onto. All I have to say is never take anything for granted. Appreciate what you have.

it pisses me off how professional athletes get paid millions of dollars. Its pathetic. why arent the real heros in this world as in doctors and such getting this kind of pay, and the starving, homeless people in this world recieving some of this money? It sickens me.

Another thing that sickens me... I look around me and all of this synthetic crap. These houses, cars, factories being built. You know how the human body is capable of rejecting some types of viruses and infections? I wish this earth was capable of rejecting these pointless things as if they were these diseases. Can't anybody just take the time and do things for themselves instead of relying on an object to make it easier? Fuck. the majority of people in this world have become extremely lazy.

Ya ^ some people get paid millions for playing a childs game. Distribution of wealth is a huge problem. But I get what some of you are saying. And that pisses me off even more.
Why don't we do something rather than just typing about it? Guess we're scared. I'll do what I can now, as far as protests go. But to tell you the truth, there isn't much support for charity. Like, you only know if Opera donates a million dollars to some charity(which isn't much for her), while a guy that does what he can in his community won't get much recognition, if any. Our attention in the media is pushed toward rappers with pimped out cars and houses anyway. Its just messed up.

But I'd rather have athletes (aka "entertainers") making millions and living the life they live than have Bono with his millions talking about all he's doing for all the starving kids in Africa. Because at least they're not talking about how everyone else's money needs to go to save the world. When Bono gives up his fortune and lives on just a half a million a year, or even just a million, I'll start listening to what he has to say.

well actually there isnt a lottery where you win anywhere near a billion dollars. most lottarys arent really that rewarding in the end.there is a thing called lump sum..then there is what you actually take home. what you take home isnt advertised on tv :).Now to be factoral on what you said about MJ, superstars are over paid theres no way around it. And as long as we purchase merchandise from these superstars were gonna support there housing.

He was exaggerating, genius. And Didn't Pepsi have a thing a couple years ago where they gave away a Billion. Seems like it, but don't really remember.

Anyways, Weed, that's the way Capitalism works. It ain't perfect, but it's the best system we got. A lot of people would like to see a socialist society because that would try and help out the poor. However, this won't work, because you can't trust the government with your money. We need taxes to be lower, not higher. It would be nice in a utopian society if we could trust the politicians with our money, but we can't. Look we can't even trust the assholes to do what they say they are going to do during their campaigns. They campaign and say they are going to do this. We like what they say. We vote for them. Then they vote in congress and do that. No, socialism would make the problem worse.

For instance, look at the extravagant palaces built by the commies in Russia, while the people whom they had taken the money from in massive taxes had little to eat. And Moscow has the most beautiful subway system in the world with works of art and chandeliers, started and initially funded by the commies. And I think it's still free to ride, covered by taxes I guess.

Look at Cuba and their meat and milk rations. (Cuba si, Castro No!!! is a popular bumper sticker in Miami, among Cubans showing patriotism, but hating Castro)

No capitalism isn't great, but it's better than the alternative. Go down the street to the shops and talk to some immigrant from Vietnam, Zambia, Honduras, the Ukraine or Yemen, or some other country, who has come here and worked his ass off. He's probably doing something damn near impossible in his own country, maybe he's started a drycleaners or a restaurant or whatever to help his family. And he had to come here, or Western Europe or Australia just to get to a place with a capitalist economy so he could survive.

We do need to have a better way of taking care of the mentally ill that are living on the streets, though. These people have no way to make their lives better.

So, yes for you quick ones out there, yes, I vote Republican, but I agree the current political arena is completely out of whack.

YEah that redistribution of wealth, I think it's called communism ;) It doesn't tend to work very well for the people at the end of the distribution list any better than the system we have now.
