Well you saw and Beckett was eveything as advertised and more I’m not writing Cleveland off yet, but If they don’t win tonight even you’d have to admit it’s over. Hotwater
Cleveland is certainly a worthwhile opponent... while I do hope the Sox win, if the Indians somehow prevail I'll cheer for them in the WS. until then... GO Schilling!!
You’d cheer for Cleveland if they unceremoniously defeated the Sox – let me see your membership card to Red Sox Nation H
CC pitched awful last night and Becket was great. I don't think its a huge deal to lose that game, but yes, tonight would be important for the Indians. Stinkfoot is the least annoying Red Sox fan of the modern era How come there is such a high percentage of bad facial hair on the Red Sox?
That makes me the nicest of the damned! After decades of watching them find ways to lose time and time again and those damned "1918" signs Yankees fans used to hold up, 2004 was an awesome year. Following losing teams builds character- driving home the truth that whatever my team does, my life won't change. The new millenium has been kind to New England, sports-wise. First, the Patriots emerge from seemingly perpetual mediocrity to not only win their first Super Bowl but to remain a bona fide contender year after year.... and the Sox finally exorcised an 86 year old demon and if my wish was granted, thousands of New York City proctologists have been extracting bits of "1918" signs from many a Bronx colon. Late season insulation?
If the Indians can squeeze out a win while their 2 best pitchers can't seem to find the plate, I will be feeling much better about their chances. Yankees fans are assholes, no doubt there. I was reading an article in the paper here about how much shit they were yelling at the Indians players.
Whatever the outcome, tonight's game is a very good one... I'm watching and listening as the announcer mentions how the futures of Joe Torre and Tony La Russa are up in the air... wouldn't it be something if they switched places? Something about La Russa bothers me and apart from his pinstripes, there's little I can find to dislike about Torre... If he winds up managing the Cardinals, they'll be come the National league Team I'll follow somewhat...
do you know how bad it sucks that i can't even watch the game online gameday crap - just not the same
god, I hope they dont switch places........ joe torre was manager for the redbirds in the early to mid 90s, and during that time, the cards had around the worst seasons that I remember..... they dont want torre back for sure....... but I do think that larussa is going to leave st louis....... probably go to the yanks
Well the Sox presented the Indians with the gift of Gagne and the series is evened up. Why Sir Chokesalot is even on the post season roster is beyond me... that's one expensive bit of albatross.
Clevelands logo bugs me. Appears like the outline of someone flicking me off when not looking directly at it.
most important about that win, is now I will definitely get to go to game 5. I was already out by the time they won and learned of the victory through text messages seemed like more than one pitcher must have had a rough time if they scored that many times in one inning
Yep- I couldn't watch Gagne.... can't stand the sight of him.. sorta like Heathcliff Slocumb some years back (we traded that handful of magic beans for Jason Varitek)- but the wheels started coming off with the second batter he faced and it snowballed from there. Looked like Gagne and Lopez pitched some batting practice for the 11th. Gagne is an adventure at very best when he goes out and is a guaranteed bust when the game is on the line... he seems to do a LITTLE better when the Sox have a big lead.
