I have recently had a bit of a sore throat, and just last night I realized - wait a min, that's not my throat, it's my tonsils! I have very slightly inflammed tonsils, they aren't swollen much, if any. I have had mono before, and the EBV could be giving me mono-like system relapse (looks like I need to work on my immune system). I also ate some of those pot pies that have been in the news. I haven't been having diarhea though, so salmonella and typhoid can probably be ruled out from the list of possible causes. My stomach has been kinda bubbly lately, but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac sometimes, and it's been bubbly ever since I heard about that. =P The weirdest part, is that I am showing no other symptoms of anything. I've been sneezing, but it's normal for my allergies to act up in fall. By the way, are mono/EBV relapses contagious?
tonsillitis look into the back of your throat using a good torch and mirror.... you will probably see white pustules on the back of the throat including the dangly bit and the flaps of of skin to the side your throat will be "real bad", probably the worst sore throat you have ever had, this sore throat will have come on very quickly probably overnight in this case you need anti biotics and a good pain killer something like panadeine forte you need a doctor in this case. any doctor who won't give you a strong pain killer is a fool go to another doctor in this case. ask round for a good doctor not some idiot who likes his patients in agony. strange to think that these doctors exist but they do. food poisoning you will probably have eaten bad in the last 8-9 hours in my experience beef or lately buggered icecream! sore throat - bad headache nausea stomach ache - your stomach feels inflated and tender , your stomach lining feels tight as a drum skin. diarrhoea - explosive and unending you might need a doctor for this too if it gets worse or lasts for more than a couple of days. antibiotics are used to clear it. you might want to try some acidophillus to help clear it
my sore throat isn't bad at all really it's just a little red and inflamed around my tonsils even when I had mono and real bad tonsillitis, I didn't have any white spots, they just got super swollen and red
well as the name suggests there must be different strains of tonsillitis the strain i've seen in a few people including myself created white pustules and bad scarring of the tonsils. one person i knew was left with deep pits where the pustules were. i'm glad it wasn't so bad. you probably need rest
Mild inflammation of the tonsils is very common in all kinds of sickness. As long as you don't have any difficulty breathing (it's possible for it to get that bad!) or eating, and the pain is bearible, probably rest is the best thing for you.
