Im looking for some organizations to sign up for that go somewhere for 2 weeks or so (or you just go for 2 weeks or so) and help people out. Americorps and Habitat for humanity both do this, but I need them to be free or very inexpensive (maybe americorps is free idon't remember)

but anyway, Im just looking for other options, so If anyone knows of anything just post it up:)

Man I remember wanting to do something like that when I was around your age. I searched it in the internet and I dont remember the name but it was in Africa, helping children, such a cool thing and my mom was like "Iliana, you dont eat. You'll get a weird disease and die", I argued so much about it, but there was no convincing done.
I remember saying something really stupid like "Oh, if I was helping the poor children of Norway, then we wouldnt have a problem" hahahaha, that was like the worst argument ever.

You can look it up online, just look volunteer travel and you'll find some options.

Yeah americorps is free, but for such a short time you'd probably be looking at something like hands on gulf coast (handsongulfcoast.org) They charge $10 though to cover your food and housing, which they provide. Reasonable I think. But you're responsible for getting yourself down there.

You might try finding a school/church/social group that is planning a trip and tagging along. A lot of towns have programs that go to the gulf coast and do relief work, I'm sure you could work out a ride along deal.

The under 18 thing could be a hassle though.

hahahhaha, Ive already found one that sends you to live with a family in costa rica and you just help them out for two weeks. It costs money but I can probably afford it
Ill look into the gulf coast one as well though, and I already know about ARRR, but I can't do anything like that until the summertime

Costa Rica is awesome. I have a friend from there and she showed so many pictures and just she had this really cool relaxed vibe. I mean I havent been there, but is a really beautiful place. It's on my list of places to visit.

hahaha, I know! thats part of the reason I was so excited when I found it. I would love to visit Costa Rica anyway, but this way im

    1. Helping people
    2. Living for two weeks or more with a family

And I would probably learn how to speak spanish if I were to decide to stay for a longer period of time:)

    Hooray for learning Spanish!
Im getting tired of speaking English ALL the time. Whenever a Spanish speaking person calls me Im like "Yeah! I can say things exactly as I think them, go me!"
