namaste my beautiful brothers and sisters :rainbow:

I've some small dreads that I wish to conjoin.
How would you go about doing this?
I've been braiding them and playing with them and to no avail.
Aye, I just can't help but want some fatter dreads, mates.
    dig?

try binding them at the root and a little further down with beads. i did this with two really tiny dreads in the front and after about a month (they were young), they congoed beautifully.

get a crochet hook. hold the 2 dreads together you want to join and jab the hook through both. wrap hair from the dread the hook tip is coming out of and pull it back through both the dreads. continue pulling it back through, until you can't wrap anything else around the hook. move down the 2 dreads, doing the same thing, so that it's connected from top to bottom. they will eventually grow together and look like this..

like dreadlochness said, try putting a bead near the root and slowly moving it down as they mat together. if you want really fat ones, try braiding three together and leaving them for a few months. i did that and ended up with some really cool congos. it was accidental though lol and i got them out, but not without a fight ;)

I tried beads, but i found croteching worked alot better for me :D You can get a croteching hook or a latch hook from most craft stores, i found latch hooks alot easier to use though.

i would try pulling one lock through the roots of the other down low where its still unlocked hair... then put a bead on it and wait.

    kattoo-
would you mind explaining your crafty skills to a psychedelic monkey who has never crocheted before?
    I'm pretty crafty but . .
I can't really understand what you meant in your post.
    muchos gracias

nah 'flipping' is threading a dread through its own root, goatboy means (i think) weaving one dread through another at the roots.
for me to combine dreads the easiest way was to go to bed!
i guess my hair wants fatter dreads than i gave it, cos i have to rip every day. though i cant be arsed so inless there trying to eat dreads from 3 or more inches away i leave em be now!
