Does a song ever remind you of a smell?

Im sitting here listening to a song and I can smell this amazing beautiful smell of a wonderful time i had a while ago

does anyone else get that?

 

yep...certain gypsy king songs remind me of wood smoke as i used to fall asleep near bonfires on the farms, and they'd often play along with versions of dylan songs and the doors

 

yes, certain songs definitely remind me of certain smells. mainly because they trigger memories past and the smells associated with those memories.

for instance, one that comes to my mind is Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You" just even thinking of that song I think of smells of lit candles (with that afterthought of sulfur smell from the match that lit it) and patchouli incense, as when I listened to that album most those were the things i had around me.

 

When I listened to the Blobby song, it reminded me of a fart smell.

 

Smells themselves definitely trigger a lot of memories for me - But I don't recall anything ever reminding me of a smell...Whatever that's about

 

I think it certain ones do but i cant remember them... Else im making this all up.
