I like films that don't follow the traditional rules. I like films without linear storylines. I like abstraction, I like surrealism. I like films that delve into the dream world.

Those films tend to be cult films.

i love them cause they are actually original, unlike most movies.
i like certain ones because they explore the human mind and stuff like that. (fight club, easy rider, donnie darko etc.)

but others because they are so bad that it is funny (santa clause conquers the martians, plan 9 from outer space, reffer madness etc.)

and others just because they rule (rocky horror picture show, repo man, night of the living dead)

Yes, me too. I'm indie, and it helps me with my image. How embarrassing would it be if someone else who was really indie came up and asked me what I thought about (cult movie X) and I couldn't give an answer because I hadn't seen it!

Being cool is hard work, people.

Depends on the movie. Though, I love a lot of cult films, I've disliked (or even hated) an equal amount.

I think it's really silly when people single out foreign films or indy films or cult films in a way that elevates them as impeccable. Every genre or category has a few real entertaining films and a few pure stinkers. (Not accusing you of doing so, mind you, just bringing up something I see often.)
