OMG i totally agree. I've seen over 50 incidents.... I was pretty psyched when they brought wake up back last year at red rocks after not playing it much for about 5 years, only to hear this crappy, cut down, new "rock anthem" version. Seems like they almost did it to have a radio-friendly song. Untying the Not as a whole is not a bad disc tho. Sirens, Tinder Box, Time Alive and Valley of the Jig are some of my fav new SCI tunes. I think they should have put Emma's Dream on the album tho, it would've fit in so well. Love and Light
a name that hasn't been mentioned yet; the Beastie Boys from hard core power cord punk, to drunkin frat boy rap, to progressive experiemental hip-hop and funk, to socially aware rap-rock and then back into the hip-hop, real solid like. Throw in a few side projects like an all country album, some steller attempts at bosa nova and tons of killer funk instrumentals and I say you have the grounds for a band that could be labeled diverse or even eclectic if you will peace
Every band that's been here for a while eventually changes. A lot of the "modern" bands have definitly changed: Linkin Park, Further Seems Forever, 311, Limp Bizkit, Blink 182, Incubus, The Offspring, Taproot, Taking Back Sunday. Sure, some more than others, but its really all in the natural evolution in the band. I see local bands that havnt been around for a while change their sound in every new song they play to just feel around for what they like, what other people like.
Yeah, but anyone whose music tastes are worth half a damn don't give a shit about those bands. Off the top of my head, I'd have to say David Bowie and Smashing Pumpkins.
Hahaha, exactly. We dont mean to bash on your music or anything...to each his own....but those bands all suck and have no substance to them. Bunch of bitches imo.
311? Check out Unity, then check out Evolver. They're music definitly matured, and they've grown up quite a bit. Even from Grassroots. And I know those bands are not the best out there, but out of what I listen to, those ones would be the one's yall connect to, and those are the ones that really change the most. The mainstream music always makes the most drastic changes. You "Pink Floyd" people wouldn't proly know 1/2 the bands I listen to. And you're judging those bands by what you hear on the radio, not by what you don't hear. All the shit makes the radio. Go listen to some of those bands original music, back before they got signed, or the ones that came out just when they did. There's their good shit, not this current poppy "play for money" sound. Most of you older music lovers sounds have changed a lot too. Genesis pops to mind. I don't say Genesis sucks because Phil does every song in every movie Disney makes.
haha! Phil Collins! man, that guys career really took off. Genesis to Tarzan the movie. man, i admire him. hahahah!
Oh, but Genesis sucks. It started sucking to high heaven when Peter Gabriel left the band and Pop-Phil took control. And it hasn't stopped sucking ever since.
