So much for Gordon Brownose changing course! He's heaping praise on President Bush for his wars! Yup, he's really making a BIG difference from Blair - NOT!

Good luck, Brits! You're stuck with another Bush Poodle running your country for how long?

What did you expect? Brown's a fookin numpty. Instead of sorting out the issues of Iraq/Afghanistan, global warming and carbon footprints etc etc, he's paying more attention to upgrading Cannabis to a Class B.

Yeah... our government really know how to prioritise!

yeah, the only surprise is seeing that anyone thought it would be different. It seemed like a given that there wouldnt be much if any change to be noticed. Back to normal!

Ah, but read this report in another British rag... the Independent. They claim exactly the opposite happened, that Brown didn't say anything to praise Bush.

    http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article2819582.ece

So which is it ppl? Which news source is to be trusted? Or none?

The Sun is a Murdock publication, isn't it? So he's probably the one wanting ppl to believe SOMEBODY is heaping praise on Bush...

Do you REALLY think G.Brown is gonna pull troops out of Iraq? Even though they're sitting ducks there?

The tone of Brown's conversation with Bush was totally different to that of Blair's.

I doubt anybody expected a massive change though, as he is leader of the same party Blair was after all. There was no chance of a massive change of policy in Iraq, but I doubt anything like that will happen again, at least not illegally.

The Sun is known as tabloid press.

Honestly though, the things I've seen from Brown makes me wish that Blair had stayed in until the next election. Brown seems a right twat honestly.

Did you actually think there would be a difference?

...And did you ACTUALLY believe what The Sun has to say? They're a right-wing nationalist newspaper, and about as believable as Brown himself.

    Don't be a mong!

Hardly. I'm a Guardian fanatic... I learn more from them about what's REALLY happening in the US than from any US newspaper...

yeah, if i wanna hear about what's happening in the usa or the world, i go to the uk papers. sometimes i have to compare articles to figure ut what's real and what's not, but still, it's a lot easier than trying to read the papers here.

To be honest, i think when it comes to the whole Gordon Brown-Iraq thing, he was left in a pretty tight situation, after the Iraq leader stood up at the United Nations conference and asked Brown if he was prepared to "abandon" the Iraq people by pulling his troops out.

As much as i would love for our troops to be pulled out, when its worded like that, i think Brown could have caused more harm than good.

    I still think he's a twat though.

Been following this link. Just how much more harm could we actually do?
One internal dictator followed by two invading ones. Now the profit margin has got too low to support their presence, the biggest problem is withdrawing without losing the PR game.

Not many people seem to have noticed, but there are now more British troops in Afghanistan than Iraq. If our troops do get pulled out of Basra, I'm sure it won't be long before they find themselves posted to Afghanistan instead, where 82 British soldiers have been killed during the current conflict.

I thought we'd all stopped worrying about mainstream politics in about 1968 - don't think about them, walk round them.

    Aye ;)

Yeh they usually get the score right.

Though I'd trust the Inde over the Sun no contest. The only thing that's trusted to be real in the Sun, is the Page Three girls' breasts
