I used to watch it every Saturday morning. Fat Albert was one of the longest running Saturday morning cartoons (1972-1984).
Wow, I lived for that show on Saturday Mornings. I read in the paper today that Bill Cosby was doing another cartoon encouraging kids to start school. Thanks for the memory jolt. Peace and Love!!!
i remember when bill cosby's FIRST l.p. came out. i think i was in highschool at the time. and my feeling was that the whatever diety(s), finally someone who tells childhood the way, i, and everyone else i knew, had actually experienced it, instead of all the cleche bullcrap that was that any of my generation anyway, had ever been familiar with it being portraid as, totally at odds with any of our actual experiences. all of his telivision gigs, live and animated both, we're 'after' 'my time' so to speak. and i think the huxtables kind of fell back in the direction, though never all the way as far as in the fifties, of that cleche mode, that cosby himself, in the begin was such a breath of fresh air by way of contrast with. fat albert. there was a fat albert in my class. his name wasn't albert. i don't remember what it was. there was an albert to, but he wasn't the fat albert at all. but there was a fat albert story on that first alblum. it was an alblum essentially of humorous story telling. humorous but totally realistic, in a way no in my knowledge had ever been realistic about childhood before. another much quoted cut from that first alblum, i think it was the first, or possibly the second, was that horror story, 'chicken heart'. my favorite though, one of his earliest that i knew of, non-eyes of a kid stories, was his interpretation of the noah story. i think that may have been on his second alblum. i don't remember the name of either of them. at any rate this was all many years before any of the televison stuff. before the son of his who was a man in his own right at the time he was killed doing charity work, had even been born. =^^= .../\...
My daddy had a record album of Bill Cosby's ...a comedy , and it was all about sports...I believe...and one of the funny cuts from it was about taking yer child to a ball game...and in the middle of an exciting play...the child needs to go to the restroom.....GOD...the man was so funny , without having to resort to hatefull humor.
yes i want the tiny kitten tho.he stopped his adult junk early. sagat funny cosby funny.liar found it.
I loved the Fat Albert show. I also had one of his albums – It had a song called - Little Old Man - that I thought was deep. And that song – reach out – take my hand – I thought it kind of rocked. Cheers!
