ive read through most of the archives and found them very educational, thanks a bunch everyone, i have another question for everyone, it seems like alot of people on forum have unlimted access to a multitude of opiates, how are you guys getting this stuff ? I have 5 or 6 doctors that i go to and a couple of them are very retisent to give me too much, while a few of my other doctors are nothing more than drug dealers with a diploma, they will give me what ever i ask for....thanks again for all the tips everyone

Well, Shack, the reason a lot of us seem to have unlimited access is because of injuries or diseases. Because of medical regulation, if someone is diagnosed with any sort of condition that involves a possibility of Chronic Pain, a doctor is REQUIRED to dispense pain managment therapy to him, or risk a malpractice lawsuit.

Honestly, though, the only way to get CONSISTENT, STRESS FREE access to opiates is to get diagnosed with something that includes CHRONIC pain.

Chronic Pain is defined as: persistent, potentially debilitating or disabling pain which has a duration of two months or longer.

Hope you enjoy my little novel, hahaha

I have chronic pain (back) and im currently on oxy 5mg. I have to go for a pain assesment soon and im worried that he'll change my medication to morphine or something. How can i explain that oxy is the best for the pain? And also i tried to tell the doc before that it wasnt a high enough dose and he rang the health authority and she said i must be 'drug dependant' and now hes written that down .i was really offended. How can explain its not enough meds without sounding like im addicted or soemthing?

I'm sorry for your pain. What the hell is wrong with doctors that make people feel like criminals for asking for more help in pain management? I would be VERY offended. I'd ask him what his criteria are for making such an assessment in your case, or does he always assume the worst in his patients. Tell him while he is monkeying around switching your meds, in the meantime you are living with pain that can grind your life to a halt the moment it becomes overwhelming. Tell him because you carry this pain 24/7 no one, not even HIM, is more qualified to assess the effectiveness of the pain medication that enters your body than YOU, and he should listen more and assume less.

It may not be the right thing to get aggressive with your doc, but at least you may feel better. Righteous indignation!! LOL Good luck to you...

The term you want to use is "quality of life". Being in pain is hell and is alot worse than taking medication in my opinion. I doubt they will switch you to morphine because morphine is more natural than oxycodone and tends to realease histamine making some people itch and have bad reactions. If you really are in pain I would seek anouther Dr but if you are just "drug seeking" the Doc probably has dealt with ten like you that day and can see through the bullshit.

Asking people on a fucking online forum isn't going to help, you asshat.

I can't believe people are so stupid to ask people who live nowhere near them where they can get pills or something.

    DUH
