this does remind me of my bike trip...where we just met so many people who let us stay in there house, cook us food, and just be so loving...it was great. ah memories
That kinda sucks. On couchsurfing, people leave you reviews based on how good of a guest/host you were. I have two very positive referals. Even if someone had ten positive referels he would not like it?? I can see the logic in rejecting someone with no referels, as that is taking a huge risk, but even if someone has a good reputation? hmm. It really is an interesting and unique experience I would highly recommend. I think it is a cool project. Hope anti CS folks come around. My gf did after we had a cool vistor from Germany.
nah. with two little girls in the house, never gonna happen. otherwise it'd be different. but good referrals aren't the entirety of the story of a person's life and motivations.
Hey, there's quite a few of these type of sites. One that I use is www.hospitalityclub.org . It's better for Asia, has a lot more members. I have stayed with people in Thailand, Laos and Malaysia. I've also had visitors from Germany, Croatia, Brazil and US. It's a fun way to get to meet some interesting people, somewhat risky, but hey, so is crossing the fucking road when drunk and we've all done that at least once. I've ended up staying where I am because of people I've met through this site. They are now my friends, not just a place to crash.
