do mushrooms smell as they're growing?

    Do mushrooms smell at any of they're stages in growth or harvesting ?

    About to grow for the first time !

    i think they just give off an earthy smell. not strong or anything

    Mushrooms only smell if you open the fruiting chamber really. It just smells like a mushroom in the wild or at the grocery store. A very nice fresh smell but nothing that would get you caught like MJ plants.
