So I'm looking to find a small LAC somewhere in the US thats not in the midwest, either coast is fine. Right now im looking into Evergreen State in WA and Warren Wilson in NC. I saw that WWC is assosciated with the presbyterian church, does anyone know how religious they are there? Like I'm an atheist will i be singled out and exiled at this college because of this or is it not overly religious? I'm looking to find a laid back, liberal, open-minded, hippy-friendly, yet still pretty decent academically, smaller LAC or University. I've got a 30 on the ACT and a 3.8 GPA in HS. I'm looking for a school 10k or less people but preferably on the small side, so can anyone tell me anything about either Evergreen or WWC?

    Much Hippy Love.

oh no i meant the student population of 10,000 or less not the money. Like I meant i wanted a school of like 0-10,000 people. Preferably on the small size.

    Antioch is shutting down sadly.

I'm pretty sure Warren Wilson's only big "religious" thing is the service aspect, which isn't really religious at all if you think about it. But I've never actually visited so I couldn't say. You really need to visit to get a feel for it. WW is kind of isolated (though in a GORGEOUS area- near Asheville) if you're not from the area though. Flying in could be a pain which is something you should think about.

I had the same question myself. I chose Warren Wilson. Evergreen is good if your very very self-motivated as you have to create your own courses and grades are not letter based. WWC is a pretty amazing place, the days are very busy though with the work and service aspect. PM me if you have more questions.

hey you should look into briar cliff university. i go there and its great! the people are really laid back and friendly. theres only like 1200 people and its a great size. with your scores you could prob get a pretty good scholarship too. its in sioux city iowa. doesent sound very appealing but its a great place with great nature all around. you should check it out!
