This is what the book of John defines God as, Love,Light,Life and I take it to mean...

Life-Consciousness,awareness,sensory perception, an abundance of experience, enjoyment, all things good, health exc.

Light-Truth, the shedding of ignorance, enlightenment i guess you could say.

Love-well it is a given, unioun, whether in a hug a handshake, sex, binding of elemnts exc,

i could go on and on but what do you all think?

Where in the Book of John is God defined as Love, Light, and Life? Could you please enlighten me with the passage? This is what I know The Bible does say about life and light in the Book of John.

    John 1:4-5

4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (KJV)

Life in The Bible refers not to life here on earth, but to eternal life with The Lord in Heaven. This is the hope, or "light" of men. This light, Jesus Christ, shines during mankinds darkest hour, when satan threatens to overwhelm us all. Unfortunately there are those who will spend eternity in "darkness" because they don't "get it".

    John 3:36

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV)

    Life John 14:6
    Light John 8:12
    Love 1 John 4:8

It's all from John just not in one book. I have heard somewhere that God is energy for these reasons. I'm not sure if I believe that God is energy, but I do know that Without energy, there would be no science, and there would be no life, light, or world. If He is energy, that would mean that upon the creation of the world, he didn't create energy... but he just set things into motion, but that also means he is everything that you see and feel... sort of like an offshoot to the Lion King's Circle of Life. That would also say something about enthalpy... but I'm unsure.

You must forgive me hitting some wild tangents in there. I'm a bit hyper.

You're right that these scriptures DO define the Lord as love, light, and life, and he IS of course.

I guess I was just asking to OP to back up his statement with scripture, and I assumed he was refering to a single passage in the book of John.

Thanks for pointing out these verses!

I still maintain though, that in the Bible, light many times is symbolic of our salvation through Jesus Christ, and life usually is refering to ETERNAL life in Heaven with the Lord.
