hehehehe. my husband has a copy of that he keeps putting on the kegorator. i keep taking it down and replacing it with pictures of male models in skimpy clothing. i think he has an endless supply of copies of it. but that's okay, i have an endless supply, too.

Lmao fuck that. My husband cooks better then I do, Cleans better then I do and stays home while I work.

 

If you're a stay at home wife i agree with about half of that. A lot of it is outdated and absurd, but if you're staying home as a homemaker why is there shame involved in making a pleasant home enviorment? We both work right now and honestly he does more around the house than I do, but I do the grocery shopping and most of the cooking.
When I didn't work I always put on make-up and took a shower before Andy came home. I liketo look nice for him!

See, that just wouldn't work for us. Not just because he makes more money than me, but because I couldn't respect him and I become the biggest bitch when i am overworked.

 

it's pretty funny, because to be honest, i do a good deal of that already, because honestly, i wanna get laid. i want a nice night. but if i'm ever told what to do, i'll do the exact opposite every time. dave learned that the hard way. i won't be manipulated and i won't be patronized or degraded (unless naked and willing). dave has this other one that's freaking hilarious, called "if men wrote advice columns." it's a hoot.

 

I agree. The only thing Andy's ever asked me to do around the house is clean out the master closet...this was 3 weeks ago. Today I have brushed the dog, loaded the dishwasher done both his and my laundry...but just closed the dooor to the closet so I no longer have to look at it.

The deal is that I gave him the walk-in and I have all of the other closets in the house. The walk-in is in the master bath, which only has a shower and I like baths so I'm like go for it dude I'll take the smaller one and three of the smaller closets.
Yeah can't get my crap off of the closet floor though...

 

well, i refuse NOT to take a day off, though, when i'm tired. if he has to deal with the kids' clutter, that's too damned bad. if he gets a day off, i do, too. but i hate messy closets. they're just a nest for filth, spiders and ickiness. and about every couple months i donate the girls' overflow stuff to ARC/UCP.

 

Y'know I have mad respect for the women who do the whole "housewife" thing as old-fashioned as it is, but thats just it.... it's way too outdated to be realistic. Most families can't survive on one person's income. thanks to the effect of our capitalistic world, the cost of living is way to high for most middle class families to be able to practice such way of life.

I can't say that I'd necessarily want this kind of life, having grown up in a very much "strong woman", even semi-feministic extended family, and believing whole heartedly that women are just as equal and are able to do the same things as anyone else in this world.

But then again I've found myself wondering aout the amount I've satisfaction it would be to pretty much devote my life, completely in every aspect, to the love of my life and there's nothing I'd love more, but times have changed, people have changed, and there's no way i could be so submissive *shrugs* just a thought

I would love to be a housewife, take care of the home and him while he takes care of the bigger things just so I don't get stressed... wishful thinking.

 

being submissive isn't quite the whole story, though. i'm only as submissive as any woman is to their manager in the workplace, and only when i agree. which is an option other women in the workplace DON'T have, unless they have another job lined up. just a thought.

Am sorry, but I am a shitty housewife. I stay home with the kid, but wouldn't say I spend my days cleaning. haha.. we are lucky if I sweep the floor. My husband does half the cooking, all of the laundry and most of the grocery shopping. Everything else I do, but its on my schedual.

The day I met my husband at the door wearing makeup would be the day he takes me for a psych evaluation!

 

Well, that really depends on the husband, doesn't it? When I got rid of mine I felt like I'd popped a 185 pound zit. Sweet relief.

 

Mine too (well, we're not "married" but close enough), and I actually REALLY like it that way. :H

 

Haha. I read this to my boyfriend and he was just like "wow". I'd never do any of that, except make dinner, but that's only because I LOVE cooking.
