don't you hate it when you order something online and it doesnt arrive promptly? i know i do. and its not always the merchants fault, though sometimes it is.

i ordered two tubed cigars, a tin of pipe tobacco, and a tin of nasal snuff (it was apparently good stuff and cost only a small, small amount so i thought it might be an ok thing to try....far better than trying chewing tobacco....supposed to be similar to smoking a cigarette minus the smoke, and its scented...figured it might be good for when i want serious nicotine like a cigarette offers but wont have me smoking something other than a pipe or a cigar or weed....but most likely i wont like it much. but i figured it might be alright...just thought i'd try)

i ordered on like monday or tuesday, and its still not here.

it only had to go from new york state to ohio....

but i realize every company operates differently, and some take more time to get your order to you....

but i'm used to cigarsinternational and jrcigar where i get my order in like three days. i'm out of pipe tobacco now, which is a shame cause definitely in the mood to fire up the briar lately, but all i've got is cigars. cigars are great, and i usually prefer them to pipes if they're any good...but they burn a really long time, give me less nicotine, and stink up my apartment worse than a pipe, and while we're having record heat for the time of year cold weather IS on the way, and i'll have to be keeping my windows closed 24/7 pretty soon

plus my money is tighter than it has been these days and pipe tobacco is almost free compared to the price of cigars....cigars are fucking expensive. i can no longer keep on smoking them daily. from now on they need to be an occasional indulgance!

i'm 22, and i make enough money for a student but most of my money goes to gas, food, rent, electricity, and such.

cigars are VERY expensive if you want to smoke a cigar worth smoking. 2-10 dollars every time i want a smoke.

machine rolled flavored short-filler cigars are barely worth calling "cigars"

i'm talking about real cigars...handrolled, all tobacco from latin america (unless the wrapper is from somewhere like cameroon or something) all long filler (whole leaves)....burns slow, cool, smooth.....

GOOD cigars. not phillies. i've found a piece of plastic in a phillies blunt once when i was splitting it for a blunt once. phillies, white owls, black and milds....all taste pretty nasty in general, burn really hot, dont last long (latter two due to being shortfiller machine made cigars, first due to being shitty tobacco), and are generally gross all the way around. dont taste good, dont smell good, are not good.

i LOVE cigars. good cigars. and good cigars are hard to make and cost a LOT of money. goodpipe tobacco, needing only to be cut, blended, and packaged, is FAR cheaper than cigars. a 50g tin of dunhills is about 10 bucks and will load up many bowls in a tobacco pipe....a single cigar purchased in the store will cost me 5-10 bucks.

i usually buy cigars online by the box and get them for 2-4 bucks a piece...four bucks a piece being expensive for me. figuring a 25 stick box that comes to a hundred bucks for a box of cigars, plus shipping. usually its the 2-3 dollar range. occasionally you can find smokable cigars for less than two bucks each...for example sancho panza extra fuerte cordoba, or punch elites

yeah, thats pretty awesome really. i would say that i'm impressed by speed of delivery more often than i'm dismayed by it, so i can't really complain. i just hate waiting sometimes. still, it beats pony express.

i went to the tobacco shop today and saw sample packets of macbaren pipe tobacco....50 cents for like a 2g packet of mixture scottish blend...got two and smoked almost the entire contents of both packets in one pipe tonight....good thing i got two, the contents wouldnt have been enough to completely fill either of my pipes.

also i picked up one of my very favorite cigars, which i shall probably save for a special occasion...la flor dominicana double ligero maduro chisel....kind of a mouthfull :( but they're super enjoyable in my opinion, very rich, very, very potent (often find myself reeling from the nicotine buzz....almost like smoking a cigarette or two)

too expensive to buy often at all, but still more affordable than many other cigars, many of which arent even as good as this...a lot of cigars are really overpriced, unfortunately. i think this one is pretty fair, but still pricey.

in general i'd say i'm the same way with MOST purchases...with certain items it calls for online ordering though

fine tobacco i almost always purchase online. i love tobacco shops, love the smell, love perusing the merchandise and making a few selections and getting to enjoy them immediately....but its far less expensive if you buy a box of cigars online almost universally.

cds....you've got a limited selection. small music shops are great if you're looking for something rare or used, but for new music they're usually more expensive than the big names like best buy, circuit city, even target, walmart, and so on. but those places have a pretty shitty selection, so theres the tradeoff. cds aren't less expensive online, but you can actually find what you're looking for (half the time i go to best buy to buy a cd or dvd, i leave with something other than what i went in for. sometimes i leave with nothing at all because i cant find what i'm looking for. in short, their selection caters to the top forty and box office hits crowd...some of that stuff is alright, and if i want something like that i'll always go places like that...but for most of my music shopping, i want to do it online)

shopping online often is more expensive as you have to pay for shipping, and more maddening as you wait for your delivery. but at the same time, its like having millions of stores literally at your fingertips...

probably among the most despicable figures in the history of the americas....since a small child this has been a sore spot for me. i've hated columbus day for nearly my entire life and never understood why they would give us a day off in honor of such a fucking disgusting human being...but...well, i enjoyed getting the day off regardless.

but if i visited the tomb of christopher columbus in seville, i'd have a hard time not pissing there.

yeah, keep in mind its NOT always the companys fault- like you said.

i work for an online cigarette company, and people get PISSED when there shit takes like a day longer than expected (and we are VERY good at shipping quickly).

i hate having to deal with the fucks who call and bitch and try to haggle free shit out of us for like a 2 day delay (post offices fault), and you can imagine how people get when their precious cigs are delayed a tad....

it can really make a shitty day, having to take an earful from some snarly, haggard, 65 yr old hoarse voiced bitch, for 15 mins because I have no control over how the post offices handles the boxes once they are in the possesion of the post office...

the website not shipping the stuff quickly is plenty reason to get pissed- but make sure thats the problem... i cant tell you how many people i would like to jump through the phone and strangle everyday because they gotta be assholes over something out of our control...

anyways... nasal snuff? you snort it i take it? my friend was talking about how one day they will probably have snortable tobacco... i had no idea that shit existed.

in the early days nasal snuff was one of the most elegant and respectable forms of tobacco consumption - only the finest tobacco, only the elite used it.

only a very small amount is used, and upon the advent of the automated cigarette rolling machine all other forms of tobacco consumption has generally fallen away from general knowledge. pipes and cigars are known of and available, but the majority of the most well known cigars and pipe tobaccos are crap. chewing tobacco is available, but again, the vast majority is shitty tobacco. hookah tobacco was, for a while, pretty much unknown in the west after its initial fame subsided, but nasal snuff, in america at least, is still pretty much unknown.

these days there are still a few companies producing nasal snuff, but most of them, if not all, are based in europe. many are mentholated, and some menthol blends include other fragrances such as apricot, anise, or other scents. many have floral/botanical scents other than fruit or mint. some are pure tobacco.

they are fine ground and drier than chewing tobacco. a pinch is sniffed into the nose gently. it is supposed to provide a nicotine buzz with "less" of the side effects than cigarettes. the stuff i got was floral scented and from a fairly well respected company as far as i can tell, so i expect it to be more pleasant than trying chewing tobacco.

i just tried it because it was inexpensive and i've never tried smokeless tobacco, but i've always found the idea of nasal snuff to be more attractive than chewing tobacco leaves...yuck!

in the old days snuff was snuff....now somehow in the us snuff has come to mean any smokeless tobacco, and since nasal snuff is relatively unknown here these days snuff almost always means chewing tobacco.

it was like two or three dollars for a lot of it, and its supposed to be nice. i thought i'd give it a shot, though i doubt it will become anything like a habit. i'm a smoker, and its pipes and cigars for me...if i get weak, it will be cigarettes, and i seriously doubt i'd ever take smokeless tobacco over cigarettes if i need a fix...

    hmm thats weird.

    does it burn like shit?

snorting tobacco doesnt sound a whole lot healthier then throwin in a dip though man, its probably a good idea to use sparingly.

i dont know, i've not done it. thought i'd try it. you only sniff a very small amount, and as i understand thinigs, it tickles a bit and causes many people to sneeze after a few minutes if they aren't used to it. thought it was intriguing and unusual and thought it might be worth a try just for shits and grins as it was so affordable for a decent amount.

nothing like a regular habit, and its not like you do a line of it or anything. just like a pinch.
