Yesterday while I was putting a big bag of dog food in my shopping cart I noticed an elderly lady loading up her cart with tins of cat food and we gave each other the pet lovers nod.

She had a lot of cat food in her cart so I asked her if she was one of the people who feed the wild cats in the area and she said she was. We started to talk about cats and raccoons then her voice started to quiver and she started crying.

She told me that in the last couple of weeks she has found 5 murdered cats in her backyard and she figures it is her neighbor who is killing the cats because he doesn’t like them in his yard. She told me that she had called the cops and SPCA and I told her I hope they hang the guy then we said goodbye.

But the whole thing bugged me last night and it still is bugging me because I figure you don’t get away with killing cats and making little old lady’s cry in my community.

Right now I have half a mind that what’s to dust off the ski mask and tape up the hands and wrists then go crack some ribs so that this guy can’t bend down and pick up another cat and he will think about what he did with ever deep breath for the next few months. Unfortunately or fortunately I have this other half a mind that tells me that that’s not a “good” way of solving it. Any way I guess I am just blowing of steam with this post. Cheers!

I used to work with a woman that had 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 6 or 7 neighborhood cats (not to mention the strays at work!) that she would feed. She lives in a bad neighborhood and she said that the kids were killing the cats. There was also a guy in the neighborhood who had a dog that he trained as a fighting dog that goes after her dogs...it's sad.

If someone ever did something bad to my cats , I'd well .. another person entirely coincidentally would make sure that the person who did it wasnt breathing anymore.
Yes this is only the net , but on my life , I really do mean that.

Some people might say that approach is a bit extreme.Id disagree.
My cats depend on me for their welfare , everything. Its a promise I make when they live with me.I'd protect them like some people would protect their children.

There was a cat murderer in my town , and guess what , after he'd disappeared it( unfortunately before Id even heard about it)it emerged he was a child molester too.I wasnt surprised.
Something that murders people's cats doesnt deserve to breathe and its better for everyone that it isnt.

So to answer a hypothetical question , Id feel much happier reading somene was found dead than beaten up.U think that arsehole's really bothered about what the courts could do to him?

Most situations , I dont agree with violence. But Id give someone a reward for killing a cat killer.

    Destroy his unworthy ass.

No, I mean it. Get the authorities involved. That's disgusting. Animals need us to protect them. They have no one else.

I'd check to see how the animals were killed first. Wild or feral animals tend to get pretty aggressive when it comes to protecting a food source, especially one as good as someone who regularly leaves food. it's not outside the range of possibility that either another cat or a dog pack would fight to the death over the food source.
    it's just evolution.

Abusing animals will send you to jail. And more often than not ppl abuse animals because they are smaller and defenseless. It is a notable sign of serial killers, and even more commonly adults who abuse animals also abuse their family.
Can you possible contact the lady? Do you know where she lives?
I would talk to her about going back to the police, of course you can help. The last thing the little old lady needs is a asshole cop on a power trip. You need to be persistent and let them know that you and the lady are genuinely worried.
The right thing isn't always easiest.
    Good luck.

Another idea would be to go around the community and inform his neighbors that you have reason to believe he has been killing cats, and warn them. Get the word out that he is evil!

I'd hunt him down and rock his shit... Shouldn't mess with domesticated animals.

when my boyfriend and i lived in a different town, there was a suspected cat poisoner. around where he lived, there were many stray cats that were fed by people in the community, including jacob and his mom. we started finding sick, dying and dead cats (along with a squirrel or 2) all over the place - puking, pooping, crying in pain. it was the saddest thing i have ever witnessed. we knew someone had to be killing them. a little investigative work led to an elderly man who had been known to say he hated "the damn cats in his yard." so we thought it was him, but there was nothing we could do! i even went down into his yard to snoop around to see if i could find the tainted cat food, to no avail. maybe it wasn't him, but last month his house was completely flooded from the midwest storms...what comes around goes around.

if i had i found some real evidence it was him, he'd have a brick through his car window.
