Seeing how lots of people on the forums have recently quitted or are in the process of quitting smoking (myself included), I thought a thread about ways to regain health after quitting would be useful. Eg: supplements, foods, etc. So far I've just been doing more cardio to strengthen my lungs. I'm interested in a good supplement that is specifically formulated to help reverse the effects of smoking. Any comments and tips are appreciated.
Watch what you eat. Be an ingredients reader. Your body will repay you for whatever you put into it- good OR bad... whether that be tobacco, marijuana smoke, food, drink... Biologically, the human body was designed to be active. Try to treat it as though it were in its natural habitat... find physical and mental challenges. Find an activity that you love (the key to that is the root word "active") to ensure that you continue long term. Pure cardio exercise that is strictly exercise and nothing more gets very boring and most people won't continue long term. Do you like bike riding? hiking? swimming? Invest in that. Interventionist approaches to physical issues rarely last long term. Most people put short term effort into getting into shape without much thought about staying healthy.
