Well ever since i knew my friend he does this wierd thing with his mouth. He would open and close it like 3 times or something then be fine..then about 20 minutes later hed do it again...then again..and so on. Rarely he'll do it front of us..most of the time he trys hiding his face for the 3 seconds when he does it, but i notice every single time. I used to think it was a habbit but no its just wierd. He legit turns around, covers his face with his hand, and other ways to try and hide his mouth all when were chilling with our friends.. but he doesnt realize i can clearly see his jaw move.

I brought this up to my other friend and hes callin me sketchy and shit for thinking that..but i tryed explaining to him how he always does it and trys to hide it. I also noticed he doesnt do it during school hours..always in the evening-night time. He also loves getting drunk..but refuses alcohol 90% of the time. The last time he drank he had like 6 or 7 shots and sat in a corner and couldnt stand up.. he was so fucked up he made me walk him home eventually. He does it so much that im convinced 100% its not a habbit, its a dependancy.

My theory is that he has a disorder and his meds only last him through about the school day. And he doesnt drink because of the meds.

    Opinion?

i used to have stupid habits like that when i was a kid. he's obviously not "all there", and probably has a permanent habit like a child. you shouldn't be thinking about it this much, he'll probably get over it when he's an adult.

Ya but like when were all just chillin..he'll turn his head completely around just to do it..also he'll stand up and walk over to something and just do that mouth thing while he acts like hes doin something else. Its clearly a dependency to the extents he goes to not to get caught doing it.

We did one time, he claims he does it cause it clears out his ears or some shit, but this kid is a liar and everyone knows that. So no point in really asking.

he very well might have issues maintaining the pressure in his eustachian tubes. Every 20 minutes or so he must equalize them.

nah.. its def OCD, my mate does things like that but is a lot worse.. he does things like... if your walking along and his hand brushes your coat or trousers etc he has to touch it again.. so like his hand just darts out, its OCD or possibly a mild form of tourettes..

yeah i dont need to do stuff like this nearly so often, but sometimes i get uncomfortable as if my ears are gonna pop like on an airplane, but they never do....doing stuff like this can help, and though i move my jaw a bit i can do it without actually opening my mouth, usually.

its like chewing gum on a plane or something to help keep comfortable.

I sometimes open my mouth and wiggle my jaw around to pop my ears and they feel better for awhile. I don't do it that often though... And I don't try to hide it when I do. I think he might be telling the truth.
