Well, I've had horrible allergies and I'm getting over a cough, so I asked my dad to pick up some couch meds for me (something that has dextromethorophan in it). I figure that it'd be alright for me to up the dosage a little bit, but I'm worried about the guaifenesin. I remember reading that it can cause nausea and vomiting, and considering that I've done my fair share of vomiting in the past 2 months, I'd like to avoid that. Is the guaifenesin anything to worry about as long as I dont do something like chug half the bottle?
No, if I remember correctly Guaifenesin is a decongestant, if you drink more than a half a bottle it can probably start getting dangerous. I think you'll be fine. If anything, the DXM is the thing that gives nausea imo.
I don't think dxm gives you nausea by itself... it's all the thickeners and artificial shit you find in the syrup and most of the gelcaps. I've heard many times that taking purely extracted dxm is a much more smooth experience. I'd say you could aim for a high 1st/low 2nd plateau dose before you start puking your guts out.
yeahh thats stuff can be BAD so be careful. last week i was wanting a little high, i didnt have and c's, but i had mucinex and they have 30mg of dxm, and like 300mg or 100mg idk of guaifenesin and i felt pretty nauseated after taking 6 put didnt throw up. my friend said he cant take em cause they make him sick. so if you can get c's, even though ppl say stay away from em ive popped tons of em and tripped fine.
people dont say to avoid c's because they make your stomach hurt. they say don't do c's because of terrible permanent damage to multiple body systems. seriously, do a pill with just dex as active.
One more question. I have a different solution that contains phenylephrine, which I cant seem to find much information about. Does anyone know about this?
nope, its an expectorant. pseudoephedrine is a decongestant, though, as are a few other nasty drugs you dont want to take much of

i never really thought of them that way, but i suppose it makes sense...i can see what you mean.... personally i never understood why they would put guaifenesin in robitussin with dextromethorphan..... an expectorant will loosen phlegm and make coughing easier and more effective. a cough suppressant will reduce the amount of coughing you do. seems counterproductive. thats how i first got DXM when i was young...i had a cold and my mom asked me what cough medicine i wanted, so i said she should get something with JUST dextromethorphan in it, because the normal robitussin has an expectorant in it which promotes coughing, but the dxm was a cough suppressant, so it didnt make sense to have both. so she got me a bottle of robitussin maximum strength cough - exactly what i was after. i just didnt take any of it and waited for the cold to pass, then i really got high for my first time.
Don't try to trip on anything with Guaifenesin. Man, don't do triple c's, you are going to fuck yourself up permanently with that shit. Try to find something with just DXM. If you want to shake things up a bit, try DXM with dyphenhydramine, you're gonna be tripping and hallucinating (audio and visually) your nads off. Just recently I was able to score these little film things you put on your tounge, 11mg each, 12 in a box, $5. Downed a box yesterday, finally could feel just the DXM, and it was good.
