Is what I don't understand is, that he is pro-legalization of all drugs: http://www.scribd.com/doc/34107/Ron-Paul-The-Pot-Candidate But on his site: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/ it doesn't even discuss leagalization of anything. Is this because many people wouldn't vote for him if they think he is pro-legalization? In that 1988 article it says that was his number one platform, now it doesn't even mention marijuana on his campaign page. Enlighten me.
I dunno.. im reading his site.. i don't totally understand why he wants to leave the United Nations? no restrictions then? what is he trying to do that we would be restricted for if a member of the United Nations?
He believes the UN is an infringement on the sovereignty of the US as it is with any country that's a member. As for drugs, probably cause it's probably not an issue he's trying to get elected on. He's made his stance clear during the debates, but I think he's just trying to get his minimal government stance on everything across in a broader sense then saying as he's said in his exact words before ""You wanna get rid of drug crime in this country? Fine, let's just get rid of all the drug laws." Getting fame among some people cause you'd be that guy who's get rid of laws against all drugs isn't always the best thing for your campaign.
he kind of touches on legalisation in the Health Freedom section, I suppose. but what can you expect? he wants to win the election and there is no way that will happen if he takes an outwardly "pro-drug" stance. not that he'd win anyway, of course.
Fuck Ron Paul, he's full of shit. he won't legalize anything. our best bet is to get a president to legalize weed at a federal level for medicinal use so the AMA is forced to study it and report its harmlessness
Yeah, its not something he is going to advertise because it is controversial. In the campaign I think politicians try to paint as neutral an image of themselves as possible
the AMA has already reported no evidence of brain damage in human users. what more do you want? Fuck the fda, their approval process and all of the federal bureaucratic bullshit in general. I'm sick of paying taxes to be targeted by my government, the best bet is ron paul.
I think Paul is one of the few people who's voting record shows he's not full of shit. Besides I think it's a better concept to legalize drugs based on the concept that it's wrong as an idea to tell people what they can put in their bodies then to try to argue the benefits and health risks of a drug only to have it highly regulated at best and still leave open the room for a huge black market. as for Ron Paul on the war on drugs, here's a few good short clips of him explaining his stance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88REf0tjZHo&mode=related&search= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3SYWDkWyXA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8S8N2OG7sU
i've been seeing more and more ron paul support, particurally in the teenage age group. Hopefully it will be enough to get him elected.
Problem is people under 18 can't vote, and those 18-21 have a serrious habbit of not voting. I don't think Hillary could win though and that's a plus, while she does have a lot of support, I don't think any other candidate also attracts the same kind of hate she does.
The main problem is getting him nominated. If the gop puts him forward his message would just continue to spread being nominated, and i think he would easily win. I guess another problem is the far left/socialist voting block who are impartial to his stance on drugs and personal freedom and more against his economics
Yeah youre right. Well i guess the popular vote counts in the state with a lot of electoral pts or whatever. If they count them..
