Im gettin *so* into it, Im very excited! I brought all my stuff to school and I am hittin the gym after class, working those obliques!! hehe. I have been doing situps in the evenings and mornings, and my tummy is hurtin in the best way! Do you guys have any work out tips?
Yes- do something you can realistically stick with. The best routine and diet plan isn't worth the paper it's written on if you're going to get burned out or bored with it and give up after a couple months.
Pyramid your situps. 10-15-20-25-30-25-20-15-10 Do crunches to each side, and then get some cardio in. You'll have crazy abs.
yea, don't do so many sit-ups, unless you are doing lower back work i dont' do much direct ab-work - i do some, but only 2 days out of the week. work on your mobility and stability - mobility in the ankle, hips, sholders; stability in the knees, lower back - you'll be much more healthier if you do this don't be afraid to pick up *heavy* weights (heavy being dependent on what you can lift). squats are great heavy pulling exercises are fun. but learn correct technique first...forget the machines want your abs to be shown or get rid of stubborn - dial in your diet. and do intense intervals or circuts...sprints. steady state cardio is subpar to those methods i just listed...
Circuit training is much better for cardio conditioning. I on the other hand, do many many crunches, as strong hips and stomach are very important with what I do.
I'm addicted to working out, it just makes me feel so good! I get at least half in hour in everyday, 7 days a week, although lately it's been more like an hour per day. Of course, there are days when I dread working out, I don't have the energy, or I'm sore from a more strenuous work out the day before, but as the saying goes, "no pain, no gain". You can also sneak in more exercise during the day such as parking your car in one of the furthest spots from the store and walking the distance. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Little things count too! Hard work pays off, stick with a healthy lifestyle, eat right (not dieting, just healthy eating and eating the not-so-good things in moderation), stay active and you'll feel like a million bucks. Congrats to you, keep up the good work!
yea, what you do is a lot different than what other people do. your training is more specialized...i was talking in generalities. you need to be able to handle a punch or kick to your stomach, and need to roll and spar on the mat, etc... i need to have strong hips and lower back strength for swimming, along with strong legs. most of my strength comes from keeping myself from rotating my body in different places....if i'm flailing around int he water, i'm not going anywhere fast hahaha, so i need to stay tight, which tons and tons of situps/crunches won't do, and it would exaberate a position that is not healthy for my sport - rounded shoulders, bad postures, etc. i've cut out pretty much all pressing movements, especially overhead pressing. and i added in a shit ton more pulling exercises, via deadlifts and rows, pullups...to keep my back and shoulders healthy
Don't do sit ups, its bad for you. Do kegels, and try and contract the inside core, tighten it and pull it back towards your spine, lay down while you're doing it. Sit ups are good to make the 6 pack bulge, but bad for your back, your a girl so i doubt you want a 6 pack like that anyway.
yes sometimes i do. sometimes i go on fitness, sometimes i do exercises at home and just recently i started going on a modern dance lessons.
i do zumba and belly dancing, i weighed myself yesterday and i lost 8lbs in 2 weeks. yay! i also do small wieghts and have a small gym in my house. (i turned the bunny room into a gym)
You just get hotter and hotter... I lost 10 so far just watching my carb intake...cutting out cookies, processed foods and all that boxed crap. Doing an hour a day of cardio helps too.
oh god, haha, i used to do Zumba dvds with the kids i used to babysit! its actually fun lol. I used to run every day, which i was very proud of, but havent gone out for a real run in a while. nowadays i do yoga 5-6 times a week. it's my fave.
