sorry but I hate Halo, but even I would put it overtop unreal tournament, imo unreal tournament ranks right up there in the most overrated games in history, there is nothing apealing about it whatsoever.

BTW, i picked up a 360 last night with a halo 3 bundle, havent played it yet

EDIT: Halo3 was really good, imho. Waaay more fun than number 2. The only thing I don't like is the boring flood levels, although they did have more variety than before in the level designs/enemies. I don't want a Halo 4 because I thought it was a great ending to finish the saga. Peace.

 

Man, Halo 3 is waiting for me at the Blockbuster downtown... I ought to get it tonight. I've been scared to pick it up because I know it'll consume my life as soon as I turn it on.

 

I totally agree. It's quite possibly one of the most overrated games EVER. It's decent, but the hype it gets is excessive.

 

HALO Wars Looks so Good...

 

My 360 is in for repairs (though the fact that I missed the release means I'm not failing all of my classes) so I didn't get a chance to play until this weekend. I came home over a 4 day break and borrowed a 360. My brother and I finished the campaign the first day, and I have to say I love the ending. It wraps the story arc up perfectly.

I thought it was a good ending when he died, but none of the games so far have lacked a special clip after the credits, and I figured there could only be one thing important enough to put at the end of the final game.
I've been wondering when we'll see 117 again. You don't finish with the main character in the most successful game in history giving that line without having him reappear somewhere down the line of what will definitely be a long-lived franchise. I think Bungie will ensure that any future games don't degenerate the series.
Halo Wars has me excited, and so does the "the Peter Jackson project", even though last I heard it was still cloaked in secrecy.

 

I always find it very amusing to see people trying to be edgy and cool by saying how Halo isn't very good and some other game is technically far superior.

Of course they still play it and probably bought it - but, like, only to see what the hype is about, man.


Fact of the matter is the games -are- that good. There's a reason H3 made well over 300 Million dollars so far, and it's not just hype.


BTW: The movie is confirmed but may take a while. It may also not be about Master Chief, but about the female Spartan who survived on Onyx,

And beyond Halo Wars another trilogy of games is confirmed and will almost certainly feature Master Chief.

I genuinely liked Bioshock more than Halo 3. Every time I went to play Halo, I'd be like " Yeah, this is sweet...but I could be eating Little Sisters" and then promptly switched back. Personal taste. Not all xbox players have the exact same preferences.

I don't deny that it's a pretty great game. I fully intend to get around to finally playing it this week now that I've kicked the crap outta Bioshock* but shit...no game is worth, preordering to line up at midnight to get it and taking the first two days of release off work, yadda..( I know a whole office that pretty much did that!) *That's* hype. And maybe you, personally, didn't by that far into the hype to camp the game but a lot of folk did.

halo 3 is great. i love the halo series myself. but i think that gears of wars online play is superior because i like to see lotus heads pop off when i snipe them . but sadly my fucking 360 raped the shit out of the disc and burnt it. so i have to buy it again. but o well it will be well worth the moolah

 

You can get disks replaced pretty painlessly.

I really dont think there is going to be a halo 3 if u saw the end then u would know that master chief dies. What is halo without master chief? Its done dude...

Like I said, all the Halo games have had something after the credits. The clip at the end of 3 was the only one that really meant anything, though (although the first one did sort of set up a sequel even more).
