My kids love those disgusting things, but I hate adding that little "flavor" packet to it because it's so unhealthy.

Is there anything else i can add to them besides that little packet o' crap to make them a little more healthy? Anyone have any suggestions?

    Ramen with Thai Peanut Sauce

2 packages Ramen, throw out the "flavor" packets, you don't need them
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1/2 cup warm water
    1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    2 teaspoons ground lemon grass
1/2 teaspoon rice wine or rice wine vinegar

Put water on to boil, add teaspoon of soy sauce. While water is boiling, start mixing the sauce. Add peanut butter and warm water and vinegar and stir until smooth; add spices and honey/brown sugar to taste. When water starts boiling, add the ramen noodles, stir and cook for about two minutes. Drain noodles, mix with peanut sauce, and serve.

I like to add frozen (or fresh) veggies to mine. Also, you can add a touch of wheat germ powder to kick up the healthy a bit. It tastes alright without the entire package of "salt" as well!

I've thought of that, but my kids aren't big on veggies, and I can just imagine the horror on their faces if I brought them a bowl of their beloved noodles filled with peas or carrots.

The first recipe sounds good, though....I might have to try that myself.

Maybe use half the packet and add some other stuff to it like a little margarine or tabasco sauce. It is also really good with pinto beans. Sound weird but it's yummy!
