I don't see how you can say that men are more likely to have subpar intelligence, when everything in civilization was men's doing, save for a few things women did. Steven Hawkings. Man. Albert Einstein. Man. Aristotle. Man. Confucius. Man. Gandhi. Man. Inventor of: Lightbulb, car, spaceship, computer, Windows, telephones, factories, etc etc. All men. Doctors: Mostly men. Architects: Mostly men. Men have subpar intelligence?
Yea, I'm a freak, because I have an opinion different from feminists and I actually have the brains to back it up. Yep, I must be a freak.
it's a basic fact. look it up. i wouldn't go too much into the great minds of the past, since women weren't receiving education or recognition until relatively recently.
I think there is cosmic equilibrium in the idea that in the long run, neither gender can out-think the other. In fact maybe there's some sort of evolutionary balance that demands that if women were smarter than men, or vice versa, there wouldn't be as many babies created and hence, a community where everyone's equally likely to be intelligent would be more successful. Just don't ask me why that would be true. I'm not that smart.
we were actually made to work together and compliment each other. but people are so out of hand trying to "win" the argument that they can't take any sort of criticism at ALL.
Sorry moongazer, I'm quitting smoking and it has me irritable. mamaKCita what type of "intelligence" are you talking about anyway?
I am sorry-my brother was like that for a while. The problem with this guy is...his entire life revolves around it. Every discussion we'd have in class-he'd have a dungeons and dragons reference. It's a whole different story to enjoy it-hell I even tried getting into it when my brother was-but to revolve your entire life to a downtown card shop at the age of 23--a little scary in my opinion.
whoa whoa whoa! All of the fighting in here! Listen...first of all to the draft thing-why does it matter? I'm sure there is still gender biases there, too. No matter where you go...there is some kind of bias. Racial, age, gender, whatever. I get shunned upon for doing what I do at 19-and when I was in Human Resources, people would tell me all the time that they weren't going to get fired by a 19 year old kid. I accept everyone for who they are. The point I was making when I started this was to prove that what I said didn't make me a feminist. I wanted to know what others thought about it.
And... Women may be better drivers, yes. Hell, I tell people not to be on the road when I am because I'm a terrible driver-HOWEVER....I can take an entire engine apart and reassemble it better than it was. A lot of it, too, is history. Historically, men were superior and women were inferior. A lot of people still keep that mindset based on the fact that they were raised that way. My mother raised me to be independent and to never ever let a man tell me what to do. My fiance was raised to think that the man runs the house and the woman cooks and cleans-he doesn't act that way, but his brother does. There are still a lot of glitches in our "getting treated equal" system.
of course there are. but in your basic measurment of intelligence, men are more heavily represented at the top or at the bottom. men are also more fragile physically and mentally. yet another way men and women compliment each other in the spectrum.
Men are shown to get sick more actually, and the male fetus and child is more likely to die then the female one from sickness.
I had that happen what I wrote a report on natural medicine. Some guy literally turned beat red and starting shaking and yelling (was calm before). I just assume it must of hit him personally, like a relative dying from either conventional/holistic medicine that made this a soft spot for him. So many people hate feminism, but doesn't feminism mean different things to different people? then how can you hate it? You might hate one version of it, or one person's take on it, but thats it. It's like hating the color red. Do you then hate everything with a red hue in it? It's rediculous to me.
Ummm I took pyschology and that is not true (the first part, not sure about the second). I wish I remember which page in my textbook that came from. hmmmm maybe I'll look it up later.
