I've looked around a bit, including ic.org, but it seems all of the communities listed there (at least in Colorado, where I am looking) are either plain old Homeowners Associations (and expensive at that), cults or scams (eg, you pay, but have no real ownership rights, which makes me wonder about being kicked out and how disputes are resolved and such.) I'm wondering if there are any real communes. Yes I know, it largely depends on my definition. Basically cooperative, agrarian, barter-based, non-religious/ideological.. I'd be interested in hearing from other people about their experiences, good and bad.
all of them bucket? mmmmmmm dunno iffin i would go as far as to say all of them... rosc my suggestion to you is to begin looking for what it is you are in search of thru forums etc as you are here,,,, look at some of the websites that are available,... contact n lots of it when you find one you may have interest in...ask the questions you have dont be shy or afraid.... phone calls often are better to feel people out... personally i would also ask to speak to others there or that have been there n left for whatever reason ( we do this for jobs why not for where we intend upon living and working too) . If that sounds good then go from there,,, schedule visits when you can,,, again personally i dont believe in the pay to visit BS especially for short term, but tis just my opinion... i would suggest doing as much before hand n visit as many as you can before deciding upon one . Always keep in mind that only you can decide upon a place for you; just because i like a place n would go back does not mean that you will like same place ...If you have any specific type questions feel free to give a shout out... though i have not been to other places than our own here i could perhaps throw a bit of insight from a perspective a bit different than your own luv n lite
