About 100 or more people could stage a die-in at a busy time of day in a big shopping mall. With most protests they can be passed by and ignored but if hundreds of people block-up the mall nobody would be able to ignore it! People could have red blood make-up allover them selves and there cold be one big sign in front of it all that says "THIS IS IRAQ". Well what do you think?
why the fuck would you just block a mall... and annoy people in the process. If I would see something like that, I would think "bloody idiots". I wouldn't think "Wow, maybe this is Iraq".
actually the best thing to do is to talk to people who've already staged these kinds of protests. Get advice from the experienced! check out www.usasnet.org it's a good starting point.
Protesting in the US in 2004 never really accomplishes much... to accompish something you have to be challenging authority in the process. When asked about the protests, Bush just smiles and says ''well thats whats great about america.'' But it would do a nice job pissing people off, so it'd be kinda fun.
Well a shopping mall is one of the biggest centers of Amerikan greed I could think of, so why not have a protest inside of it that not only makes a point but also disrupts the daily working of this center of greed. I am seriously thinking about staging this protest; I know of a REALLY BIG mall in Poughkeepsie, New York, Amerika, North America, Earth. If we can organize about 100+ people we could completely or at least mostly block up the mall. We need to stop fucking talking about changing the world we need to do it NOW!
If you actually kill yourselves, people will take you seriously. It's definitely a good way to get your message accross.
So, you don't really want to make a difference? You just want to have a little fun? Do you realize that this nation is split pretty close to even on its political views? So about half of the people that you're planning to piss off just for fun probably share many of the same views that you have.
Well, I have to say that I'm impressed, peaceman. Most kids I knew at 13 (and I myself) were more interested in the next episode of Dawsons Creek than politics. Don't get frusterated if it feels like you cant do enough. Try hard to stay informed, and to inform the people around you. There are also plenty of web resources for political and protest groups, and you can keep up with different protests and rallies going on in your area.
Any large mall will probably have police on the premesis, and they will remove you very quickly. You have the right to protest, but not in a place that interferes with business. The greed you speak of puts food on a whole lot of tables...
I have been reading the posts on this page, and I don't want to sound insensitive, but all of you are intellectually lazy. No one bothers to read facts or valid information; it appears, however, to me at least, that all of you choose to be blinded by Leftist ideology. And your ideology acts as a mental straitjacket. It blinds adherents to reality, breeds fanaticism, and rationalizes dishonesty. It makes smart people stupid. Ideology provides a way for lazy people to respond to issues, ideas, people, and events without thinking. In the final analysis, you all aren't necessarily rigorous thinkers. You hate Bush so much that it clouds everything you do, say or think. You are all intellectual morons. And I say this with all the sensitivity I can muster, because I do want to be PC.
protest is a protest, it provokes more protests and arises public awreness. better than the national "obesation policy" (a new term coined)
It will be much more effective if you actually die. The police will tape you off, and wait for coroners, FBI, and ambulances to take you away. It would get national, if not multinational news coverage. Then, all the obituary notices and eulogies, your story will spread like the bubonic plague. Dying seems like the only way to go...it might even inspire a new "Six Feet Under" episode! What a legacy!
