Hi, Ive been wanting to have an out of body experience for the past few months but I dont know how to have one. I dont want to use drugs to get this experience. So is there anyway to actually achieve one from working on it or is it something you cant work on?
hey chris. ive never had an OBE, its something which ive heard takes practice. dont be discouraged if you cant achieve it straight away. try Lucid dreaming first, it can be a really good way to get in touch with your dream state and ive heard its a good starting point to OBE's. theres lots of guides about lucid dreaming and OBE's all over the internet, do a search. it is definitely something that needs to be worked on to achieve, i doubt you'd find many people who can have an out of body experience straight up without effort or practice. good luck!
you cant work on an out of body experience. you dont really want to experience one, its very tramatic. and very rare. alot of ppl who are experiencing one are actually in the process of dying. not something you want to get into.
its not really that rare... a lot of people are quite skilled in astral projection... perhaps there is a difference between OBE and astral projection though, that i wasnt aware of, i thought they were one and the same. but anyway, astral projection is something that can be learned.
I thought that was a near death experience not nesscarily an out of body experience. And you can teach yourself to have an out of body experience....that is what astal projection is all about. But learning to astral project will take you a long time and a lot of patience as as far as i know it is a deep meditive state. To be fair I am not massively reserached about it, i just have read a few things here and there.
As ethereal said, do lucid dreaming first. There's a lot of materials on lucid dreaming online. Then, once they start happening, try to do obe's... But don't rush, and don't be discouraged if you fail. It can take a very long time (months or even years) before you actually get one. A dream catcher could help. That's not true. It's not that rare, and can be achieved by practice. And it is not traumatic. In contrast, it gives you a sense of oneness with the universe... I only had it once, but it was really cool.
Yeah I have had a lucid dream a couple times and it is the best feeling ever!! I can hardly ever have em though I always forget to become lucid. I remember all of my recent dreams are not lucid at all because I was not controlling anything that i was doing, and I do not know that I am in a dream. How can I remember to become lucid in dreams?? That is the hardest part just remembering when you're there.
Thanks so much for the advice. I am willing to work on this and am looking foward to it. I looked up lucid dreaming and saw several techniques but does anyone have any advice on how to and what exactly they are?
Is it normal to have lucid dreams everytime you sleep? I have been having them almost every time I dream for about a year now.
I'm really sorry i have just seen this post. I havent got time to explain how it can be achieved. But i promise i will get back to you. Basically like someone said best way to start is by lucid dreaming. -by the way for doubters i also fully accept thats all you might be doing anyway- what i did want to say was. Be careful though (not like the dying post) but when you manage it, it can get very addicitive as its a very very good feeling. To use a cliche better than sex. To the point where I nearly decided once not to 'go back' to 'my body'. I did of course, but it did feel like my body 'forced' me back. I stopped doing it after that. Anyway like i said i will try to get back to this post - or if you can by this site send you a personnel email.Which i'd rather. anyway good luck, but take care
nb3299, if your'e going to send that explanation via pm, can you please send me a copy also... thanks.
Well, apparently 9according to ghost lyric-thank you!) i had one and shes right, it is traumatic. It really wasnt much fun at all. Was i in the process of dying? Its hard to tell. Im sick now but i wasnt back then, but how do i know when it first began to manifest? Anyway its weird and happened spontaneously and itd be hard i think to make that happen purposefully
stand straight and tall, stiff as a board. you must be facing the northeast. acquire something that symbolizes an eagle. this could mean a necklace, a feather, or something similar - but make sure it has something to do with a eagle or a body part of an eagle. standing erect, you should have a friend there to assist you. take two steps forward [toward the northeast] and chant, "ascensionus dimensionus" and then your friend should slap you as hard as he can on the back of the head. if done right, you should have a successful OBE experience. good luck, young grasshopper.
What kind of method is that? Does not sound authentic. To achieve an OBE, one must relax in a comfrotable pose, not be stiff as you suggested. And no slapping is needed...
i've had dreams with the feeling that it was truly happening, and i was having what i believed to be an OBE. i'd love to have this, too-i just tap into other talents....OBE's arent quite my greatest ability!LOL.
i haven't had one in a while, but i have had quite a few. here goes: firstly, this isn't astral projection we're talking about. it's etheric. astral would mean you are travelling to other realms, as in dreaming. becoming accustomed to lucid dreaming, or astral travel will definitely help you with etheric projection, but you should know the sensation is very different. you should get used to maintaining awareness and "bodily" control through lucid dreaming before you jump into all of this. in my experience, etheric projection is accompanied at first by extreme terror. i feel this is probably because it is new stimuli and fear is the natural response. depending on how you view this life, you could say the experience is accompanied with hallucinations of other lifeforms nearby, or you could say that you will draw the attention of other sorts of lifeforms when you perform this act. i would compare the feeling to that which you experience when young and having the nightmare of some terrifying force chasing you. once you become accustomed to this feeling, you will realize there is nothing this force can do to you, other than scaring you away from what you're trying to do. as far as advice for steps to take: purify. no drugs of any kind. no caffeine, no cigarettes. no shitty food. no wanking. meditate often. always ask yourself if you're dreaming. ask yourself, what's the difference between this and a dream? this sort of thinking will build a neural net in your brain that will aid you in making this whole process a reality. once lucid in a dream, look at your hands. this will center you and keep your awareness from waning. when your hands begin to fade or distort, look at the nearest object or scene. when this becomes unstable, look back at your hands. repeat this until you have a complete and solid view of your dream setting. if any of this works for you, let me know how it goes and i will offer any additional advice that i can. whatever you do, don't give up. this is your life and you should get whatever out of it you feel is important. your success depends on how much of your vitality is devoted to what you want to achieve. anyways, good luck man. you've chosen an interesting alleyway to explore and i hope you find what you're looking for.
i have had an obe twice. one when i didnt know what it was, wheni was simply trying to fall asleep when i was about 13, and all of th esudden had this insane rush and it felt like i completely left my body, and started flying at high speeds. didnt know anything about obe's at the time. then my second time was through meditation, but snapped out of it in about 30 seconds because of the "wow" factor.
