It's become way too popular and now it's just basically a store that accepts paypal.

You ever find any good deals? I haven't in forever... and forever is a long time.

That depends on what your looking for. It's blatantly a store if you use the Buy It Now option but still you can still score items cheaper than retail.

nah man, ebay is awesome if you know how to search right. i buy my skate merch (like complete setups) for halfprice, books at like 2 dollars apiece, and brand new 40-CD lots for ten dollars! which ebay have YOU been shopping at?!

Got a 5 month old dell lap top for $200. Has complete care and everything. You can still find some good deals on ebay if your lucky.

well, It is still nice sometimes.

I mean, you think you get a good deal, than the shipping hits.

-Don't bid w/o checking shipping charges. Assholes like to charge $15 for basic shipping of cds these days. DO NOT support it, pay attention.

-check for mis spelled things. sometimes you can get amazing deals on auctions with slight spelling mistakes

-Usually it is good for obscure things. I have found random SNES games for $1.

I get some good deals. It depends on what you're looking for.

There are actual stores that sell electronics, etc on there that charge as much, if not more, than they charge in their store-the sad thing is...people buy it.

My brother bought a RAZR on ebay from one of those store owners for $400. I found one a few days later for $50 that was in perfect working order, never taken out of the box.

There are some deals, you have to search. Tip I found out works well-misspell something that you are searching for. For instance, if you're looking for a Plasma Television, try searching Plazma Telvision or something.

you can never take for granted, whatever you find, wherever you find it, is ever going to be the best deal you could have gotten on it. unless like you're walking along and find one laying on the ground out in the boonies somewhere and no one claims it, or they deliberately give it away to get rid of it, like if it didn't sell at a yard sale or something. which of course you're not going to find either of that situations online.

i think the only thing about ebay is finding things you haven't been able to find in real life. there's also craig's list; the other ebay so to speak.

i've never joined nor bought anything from either of them. i know, have known, several people who made a major hobby out of those places.

well to each whatever the're interested in i guess.

People just need to learn it, most who dont like it are a product of there own ignorance just like most things in life.

If people dont understand or cant master a task, issue, life, then somthing must be wrong with it because it certainly cant the person who questions it who is in the wrong.

There are some things that I've scored a better-than-retail cost to it, even including postage and everything.

There are quite a few downfalls with ebay though. Yes, it's become too competative.

Secondly, there are way too many people who slack off with it and there are times where you get screwed by the sellers, so it's hard to find and deal with people with perfect or near perfect feedback.

Thirdly - and this is from a seller's point of view (the seller being me) - I find that it's easy to get lost in the shuffle of ebay. If you do have an ebay store with non-auction listings, there are few who find you unless they have a very specific search to find you. It's rather difficult to run a business through them, and I'm at a point where I'm spending more on ebay fees than what I'm making in sales at times... (not profit, sales! who'd a thunk it?)
