In my opinion it's all about the context in which the word is used. I'm sure I'm not the first to say that. Like many other potentially derrogatory words, it can also be used in humour or jest. If we are taking about the word being used to directly insult then it really is quite a dated concept to be honest. The idea that a girl is lesser because she sleeps around is laughable. What goes on in the bedroom (or out of it) is no indication of intelligence, decency or worthiness.

Personally I think the word, when used as an insult, is just tired and narrow minded. When used in play, well, each to his/her own.

    Seriously
    Loose
    Uterus
    Tableau

It's that word that is like any other that gets to people.
Make comedic, perhaps anecdotal references with it. As creation is the reversal of creation aka destruction.

If you don't think you're a slut, little problems should there be. Plus everybody enjoys a good laugh.

If it makes you feel any better, at least sluts hold a monopoly over the best "scene" in life. I mean c'mon, getting laid, how is that a bad thing?
And if viruses occur, then it becomes anectdotal injections of a medicinal shift.

Thus we have sex and medicine, so strong is human love, it can take the loads of all the heep. Plus you probably get to smoke killer bud on the down time. Or, you can branch the business out into safety slut practices and the wole problem is negated altogether.

From there, the term slut spirals off into the coupling of people being sexually healthy. And nobody cares about who's getting more than the other, everybody's happy, nobody's sick, I want milk.
    Cheers!

I actually love being called a slut. My hubby gets turned on by the fact that I don't just want to pretend to be one, but ACTUALLY be one. He loves it when I can satisfy other guys than him. I never cheat on him because he is always there to watch.

    XOXO

Umm i would go up to her and say that shes a slut and if she doesnt want people to be mean to her and make fun of her she should change her ways. Im not going to be mean and scream out in front of a lot of people that shes a slut, im going to politely say your a slut. lol

I use the word slut often enough, seeing how the streets are swarming with them. Disgusting creatures. The word is harsh, yes, but usually justified.

I think the word should be wiped out of our vocabulary. It has lost it's meaning AND I personnally don't think there is such a thing as a slut. There are ppl who really love sex, but there are no sluts.

    Wikipedia says:

Although the ultimate origin of slut is unknown, it first appeared in Middle English (1402) as slutte (AHD), with the meaning "a dirty, untidy, or slovenly woman." Even earlier, Geoffrey Chaucer used the word sluttish (c.1386) to describe a slovenly man; however, later uses appear almost exclusively associated with women. The modern sense of "a sexually promiscuous woman" dates to at least 1450.

Another early meaning was "kitchen maid or drudge" (c. 1450), a meaning retained as late as the 18th century, when hard knots of dough found in bread were referred to as "slut's pennies." A notable example of this use is Samuel Pepys's diary description of his servant girl as "an admirable slut" who "pleases us mightily, doing more service than both the others and deserves wages better" (February 1664). In the 19th century, the word was used as a euphemism in place of bitch in the sense of "a female dog."

Similar words appear in Dutch, German and Swedish dialects meaning "a dirty woman," indicating a common ancestor in Germanic languages. A popular theory connects slut to earlier Germanic forms meaning "slush" or "mud puddle," but this derivation remains in question.

While the word slut also appears in modern Swedish, where it means "ending", it is not linguistically related to the English word. The Swedish word derives from the Proto-Germanic word *slut meaning "to close", which arrived in German as the word "Schluss" with the same meaning of "ending". It is related to the Latin word claudo meaning "to close

Should we invent a new word for slut? A Shclurb? Anyway, never have used the slut word, never will. But easy people are easy people, people with no morals are people with no morals.

i will respect a female in all ways in all situations.
i will also support her right to go into sluttish mode when and as she desires....knowing that her sexuality is more powerfull;even more scary than most men can handle.
i love a woman that can allow her 'slut' free expression..........mmmmmmm!
after all, she is then acting as her nature intended her to act.
an intelligent but highly sexual being.

Who are you to say what are and are not morals? A person that appears to have no morals to you might have all the morals they want to themselves. Who are we to judge?

'slut' should only be used to the one you are fucking right now, when she needs and wants that dirty talk to help her get off......which dirty talk will do !

I'm kinda wondering why we have to lable people at all! I mean it sure isn't my place to say if someone is a slut because my definition of a slut might be different than yours. Why not just call a spade a spade lol, like "Oh you know Karen, she's the one who will fuck anything that moves!" Then they can make their own decisions whether she is a slut or not! (smiles)
