legal age to buy from a headshop?

so I'm going into L.A. on saturday with a friend, just gonna take a bus and stay for the day..i'm thinking of going to a headshop but I dunno if it's legal or not if you're under 18..someone help me out?

But it depends on the shop, I bought a piece at 15 without getting carded but I still sometimes get carded just walking into some smoke shops. It really just depends on the location, the people who own it, etc.

not always, sometimes local shops will let you in. at least at mine they do. they care more about the money and the law doesn't really give a shit. though this is in canada, it's probably more strict in the us
