I find true love and passion in your life are the truest expression of what some people would call god.

When you have that, you feel no need to try to convert people, but rather try and share your rapture with all those around you.

 

I also find true expressions of compassion for the human race to be the purest form of love, and the only religious actions which matter.

 

Maybe also compassion for the smarter apes.

 

i don't think so. it's all the other crap that makes you naughty. but still, even as a delusion, it sure is nice. just imagine, going through your life, doing the right thing because it feels right, knowing that in the end, there no need to fear death or the end, everything is going to be alright. no fear or doubt or feeling alone every day. they're tapped into something wonderful, i think. and wish them nothing but peace and joy. someone should have it.

 

If everything was randomness and chaos nothing would exist. There is some guiding force that turns a tiny speck of incomprehensible mass into a universe filled with galaxies and stars and planets and living beings that share energy in the most amazing and perfect natural systems. And everything makes way and reaches for the shining light of consciousness. What more proof do you need?

It's the belief thing I don't get. You can believe in the Bible or the Koran etc but then you could also believe that your Micheal Jackson.. or maybe Sponge Bob Square Pants.. The point I'm getting at is, dellusions are dellusions, nothing more. Just because most of the world follows a particular dellusion dosen't make it real right?

How does one dellude themselves from reality? I can see how those suffering in say, the Middle East could follow religion as a form of escapism, but I can't see how a Westerner or anyone that lives in the West can still delude themselves from reality.

It's easy to ignore reality because it can be quite frightening. Frightening in a sense that we do not understand everything. We could always swallow a religion that conveniently explains everything to help us sleep at night but we could never know the truth when deluded to this degree.

Things trip me out all the time, even little things. Like the Owl Butterfly. How can a butterfly develop the image of 'eyes' on it's wings? When it's threatened, it turns itself upside down and spreads it's wings to produce the image of two large eyes looking back at you to scare of predators WTF?

You can go on forever, like the storm on Saturn that forms a giant six sided hexagon (ok, I'm being too random now but I'm working cold beers) I'm going to go ahead and make a thread about trippy stuff tomorrow

Religion is like an out of date manual on life. Life is soo short though. Look how quick a year flies by. Why would someone defect to this level?

Why spend all of your live praying to a religion to secure your place in the after life? Would it not be more productive to seek your state of heaven awhile your alive?

Reincarnation makes me laugh too. Yes your atoms will be 'recycled' but to what? A hamster? A pencil sharpener? It's not like your state of mind will magically be preserved in your bodily fluids.

Islamic extremists want to see the West destroyed because we offend their dellusion. They were actually allowed to praise the 9/11 atrocity in London without consequence. Did you see how some countries in Asia took to the streets and rejoiced at 9/11? All I saw were *******ised monstoristies.

Their told that if they turn themselves into human bombs, they will secure their place in heaven. Hhmmm. Whatever floats your boat I guess. They should all be culled imho and we should excersise zero tolerance. If not for us, for our children. They want to start a 'holy war' too. Right, K.. I can see why they hate the West. People tend to dislike what they cannot have. They have nothing to lose and will continue to be the invisible enemy.

I feel for the children in the Middle East though. I saw on CNN that a innocent four year old child was set on fire by extremists in Iraq. Sadam used to get his soldiers to rape and dismember women in public for following what they wanted in life. Do one stepped up to resolve this problem and all the children and women suffered without a voice. Now the US went in there and owned everyone... that was awesome. Forget about the oil and money for a minute and note what I'm saying here. An evil tyrant was taken down and there were casulties. Don't you have to break eggs to make an omelette?

I agree with alot of what you wrote... not sure what I believe but I have a hard time taking seriously fundamentalism that would have a follower orchestrate their life in such a minuscule manner that all possible passion and enjoyment gets sucked out.

Religion is man's invention. Its purpose is to control people using their superstitious natures and need to submit to a punitive God who is unduly concerned their trivial day-to-day tasks and every utterance.

Most religions are self-debunking myths.

 

So was it an awesome post? What part would I read differently if I was sober?
