Anne Muller (The Irish Artist) has written a book on her philosophy of colour as it applies to temprament. Its a good read.

''Colour talks to us of worlds below the human level and worlds that are above: of Ariel and Caliban, with Prospero between the two.

Painters used to help us find our humanity through the use of colour. Beauty, we are told, is now to be found and admired in the hideous.

The imbalance is glaringly obvious, the message as unsubtle as being smacked on the head with a mallet: the glorification of Caliban - this thing of darkness.

We need to reawaken to the glory of colour; the magic and mystery of its ever changing beauty, its grandeur in nature and in the landscape, how it plays across the changing skies, how it inspires and uplifts, and talks to us of the treasures of the spirit.

We are Prospero and colour can be our wand, our early warning system and our rescue.''

She also wrote 'Messages' which is a series of meditations. More overtly spiritual than 'Colour' and rather more serious.

''Begin the journey. Do not wait until you think you are worthy.

There is a plane of existence to where you will be taken. Prepare yourselves for this by conquering all fear. How can you fear when I am with you?

I gave you dominion over the earth when you were very young and had no knowledge. If I so trusted you to find Me then, how much more can you be relied upon to find Me now? Childishly you feel incapable of taking responsibility. I grant you the right to stumble and fall and I forgive you before you have fallen.

Your search for truth must be defined. Let your hands be constantly on the steering wheel of truth. The road on which you are traveling requires this, for you are traveling fast.

Love is the medium through which you move: it is your blessing, your food, your fuel, the reason, your goal and your vehicle. Ask for it aloud, together, and pray for it alone in silence.

I have promised you peace and great joy, marvelous power and everlasting life in the light. You are blessed.''
