I assume you mean the London underground?

"Underworld" was the Kray twins, gangsters and GBH etc. Generally, hippies would have kept away from that scene.

"Underground" was Mick Farren, Caroline Coon, Edgar Broughton Band, Oz, IT, etc etc.

I know nothing about 1960's London underworld. I was dead then. I was born in 1982,so you are a generation late.

If its about hippies and the underworld I reckon the hippies might be in trouble, and you'd have to be young as well.

hmm well if they want to be accurate lots of dealers and people involved in the drug trade were hippies and you had people who had long hair ect ect who were very dangerous ie charles manson .

I knew hippies in the late 1960s has a little kid who were dealers or smugglers and they no way looked like the krays , but if they want to carry on that stereo-type thats all criminals in the 60s had short hair and suits and came from london what can you do .

I think the hippies were in many cases smarter and didnt get caught so much, some did like howard marks but there were lots of people like marks still are.

The media want you to think the drug trade is just controlled by people like the krays but that wasnt true in the begining and still isnt depending on the drug
look at the brotherhood of eternal love with lsd.

And you had older hippies my uncle the wizard was ancient (he had been a squadron leader in the battle of britain) but he was quite bohemian anyway I suppose .
    timothy leary wasnt that young

Sure a there were a few older folks about but they would of been bohemians rather than hippies, I think that was more for the kids and the boutiques.

The english scene was a bit removed from the american model which was far more political. Unsure about the drugs trade myself though.

Well, got the job. The last bit of extra work I did, they had me dress up like Saddam Hussein in a pink turban, so I reckon being a hippy has to beat that....

Nice one! They want me to come and look like a hippy too so we should have a beer or something... I've never been an extra before, oooh I'm all excited...

See you there, I'll be the one that looks like a hippy [IMG]

Out of interest, what production warranted you dressing as Saddam in a pink turban?

Nope, underworld. It's for a scene of a squat being evicted apparently...

It was the 2004 Hollywood adaptation of 'Vanity Fair'. They set a scene in India, but instead of going there, they rounded up all the local ethnics in Thetford Forest. So You working on the 24th?
