Medicine in capitalist countries is oriented not at healing, but at earning capital. They add chemicals into about every drug that seem to fix the problem you are immediately having, but cause a lot more problems in the long run. Standard medicine, people, heals problems, not their causes, and that is wrong to the root. Take my advice, people and look into alternatives. To get a head start, read, "Heal Thyself", by Dr. Edward Bach. It'll show you what the real causes of all illnesses & suffering are!
That's what they want you to believe. In reality, "prevention" actually has a multitude of side effects that cause a whole lot more problems in the long run. When medical services are commercialized, doctors and insurance companies have a conflict of interest; unfortunately, in 99% of cases, the lust for money precedes everything else. Therefore, as long as medicine is a business, it cannot be of real benefit; furthermore, since they are interested in keeping you as a client, they'll do tricks that will cause health issues, and that are likely to go unnoticed by general population due to ignorance of the subject matter... It has also been proven by research that people who worry more about their health when they are not sick get sick more often that people who worry less. Since prevention requires prior thinking, the logical conclusion here is that prevention is a direct cause of disease.
and to ease your symptoms, try natural home remedies. a variety of herbal teas ease a variety of ailments. Blackberry tea is good for stomach aches. Raspberry tea is said to help menstrual cramping. so is feverfew tea. There's a bounty of resources on the subject.
Alot of people do pranayam (yoga) people have been cured from like cancer from it. Well thats my cure...
Prevention means living a healthy lifestyle that reduces your risk of disease. Sitting around worrying about getting sick will not help and probably hurt, but living in ignorance and doing nothing to prevent disease is not going to help either. Prevention does not have to mean going through the current medical establishment.
I have heard things similar to this, doctors prescribing medication that isn't needed and illnesses caused simply by too much stress.
Okay, that is true, but there are two things that need to be mentioned: a) Nowadays, when one says "prevention" one most likely means "regular checkups and procedures by healthcare". b) Even if one's lifestyle is healthy, the way today's society is organized stresses come over one sooner or later, often unnoticed or ignored, and out of those stresses health issues arise, sometimes in form of physical disease. So, what do you do? You go to a doctor, who usually prescribes shit. There are some exceptions, such as doctors who still follow the Hippocratic Oath, but they are very few. And even these few use the commonplace pills. And if you don't go to those doctors, FDA throws a big warning sign into your face that tells you that you're on your own if you use herbs which were not tested, but these herbs help better than the tested drugs despite the warnings... That's what I was trying to get at.
Now Hillary and others want to mandate that we all pay for health insurance, even though you may never see a doctor. Who benefits from that...the insurance companies and big medical conglomerates who are in bed together. Ever attend any of those annual conferences medical professionals have to attend to retain their licenses? Most of the content is made up of how to obtain the biggest monetary return on your time spent, not on updated medical practices that will benefit the health of your patients.
The ONLY time I go to the Drs is when I'm on "death's doorstep". Which has only been once, since the 80s when I had to go to the hospital for a miscarriage. What got me to the Drs 2 years ago was contracting "Fifth's Disease". All in all, I was down 6 weeks with that crap. Nasty shit for an adult to get. I had been involved in the health food industry for many years - and have used herbal remedies and simple rest to get back to health. I am of the ilk if you go in for regular check-ups - they're GOING to find something. I've watched friends and my Mom, who thrived on going to the Drs for every little thing, and always seemed to need some sort of care/medication etc. If I go into cardiac arrest, yes - I'll let someone drag me in...but that's about it.
a) Yes, that may be true. It is not what I think when I think about prevention. I have not been to a doctor or thought about being part of the medical establishment in such a long time I guess I have just lost touch with what the populus considers for healthcare. b) A healthy lifestyle includes dealing with these stresses in a healthy way so they do not harm your health. Granted society does not make it easy, but we need to do what we can to either distance ourselves from stressful things that we do not need around us or find ways to deal with stress. Most stress we bring upon ourselves. A lot of help we get from the FDA to begin with. They approve drugs that in a few years turn out to be very harmful, but as long as big pharm corporations are willing to pay big bucks to fast track their drugs it is ok, right? There is a lot of information available to us on the internet on most substances. I am not saying to believe everything you read, but taken enough sources and seeing where they get their information should leave all of us with enough info to make our own decisions on health. By the way, yesterday we brought a beautiful baby girl into the world, at home, with no doctors around, just us. Actually she did all the work. How is that for bucking the system? Pregnancy and child birth are not diseases or sicknesses so why treat it as such?
Exactly! Always look to see who is really going to benefit when politicians start talking about bringing about new programs. Forcing people to have insurance sure isn't the answer. Anyone ever actually dealt with an insurance company? Even though you have paid them for years never using their services, the first time you need them it is a pain in the ass trying to get them to pay, if they even will. People really need to be careful and not just push for anything from the government for healthcare.
Regarding Hillary's corporate based "universal" health system. It is easier for a sick Romain kid to get doctoring than a sick American kid. I am willing to bribe the insurance/pharm. industry to change that.
Yeah I remember when car insurance was mandated in Calidfornia. Was supposed to bring the rates down. Now we have to pay for unisured motorist coverage as well as our normal coverage. We as taxpayers bribed them then, as we did Enron when they sold us deregulation.
eat well, do exercise, do whatever it needs to relieve stress. then go to the doctors when you really need to, not for minor things, cos thats when they will just give you any old thing to shut you up.
Doctor horror story. I was taking care of a 90 year old woman who was wealthy beyond ordinary means. She went to the doctor complaining of a cough and insisted that he give her antibiotics. He agreed and wrote her a prescription. This drug obviously (to me) either had a serious interaction with her other medications or is just some mind-altering antibiotic because within 3 days she could not keep herself awake. Another Dr visit to some other dude because her regular Dr is taking a day off. He changes her prescription to another antibiotic. The next day she was hallucinating like no trip I've ever had. She thought there were tons of sick people in her house. She kept asking everyone to come around and introduce themselves to her. This went on for 18 hours straight, till another Dr visit wherest he prescribed for her a FUCKING antipsychotic!!! I was enraged and trying to get family's permission to disobey the Dr's orders. They had me leave and a LPN come and take care of her, so I don't know how long it took her to recover, but they did take my advice on the antipsychotic and she OF COURSE stopped hallucinating shortly afterward. I was so disillusioned about rich people getting better care, they only get bigger bills.
