So I'm quite odd when it comes to bottled water... I'm quite picky. I don't like anything but generic grocery store brands or Nestle Pure Life water. Major brands like Aquafina and Dasani are just bleh. Anyone else have tastes for certain waters? Man, this is lame.
Some of the bottled waters are simply filtered tap water, and they still contain toxic junk like fluoride. This water only tastes better than tap water, but is no better for your health. Even the spring water comes in plastic, so I don't think any bottled water is good. I do drink it from time to time, but I prefer filtered water from home. I have an activated alumina filter which filters all the crap from the water, including the fluoride.
Dasani and aquafina are coke's and pepsi's products. I drink and bottle filtered water. When I really really have to, like when I'm out, I buy evian, just prefer the taste that's all.
I will only drink spring water directly from the source. I only touch tap water if I am dying of thirst and desperate. As far as I'm concerned, Dasani is salt water... no water, electrolytes or not, should contain salt.
My bottled water preference is my lucky nalgene full of tap water. Its way cheap and good on the planet. Over 2 million water bottles are produced daily and only a small fraction are recycled. Add to that all the gas used to ship water from fiji and that clear mountain spring, and you've got yourself a big eco-disaster. If you're water tastes bad from the tap, invest in a filter or a big 5 gallon dispenser and refill your small bottle. Cheers
Cucumber-Mint Water: 1 english cucumber, peeled and cut into half-moons. Quarter cup chopped fresh mint. Ice cubes. Makes about 8 cups.I'm a spa fan. Since I can't spend as much time as I'd like being cleansed and coddled. I might spend a whole day with this rejuvenating water, bringing a little spa state of mind to my workday. You'd be surprised how energizing it can be. It's also great with spicy foods. Combine the cucumber and the mint in a pitcher with 8 cups cold water and chill for at least 1 hour or up to 1 day. Serve over ice if you like.
I drink either locally produced spring water, like Abita Springs and Kentwood, or grocery store brands; Winn Dixie & Rouses.
