I got this recipe from another online forum. I made it last week and it's great. The World's Best Chili Ingredients 4 lbs ground beef 1 large onion diced 1 bell pepper diced 2 jalapeños sliced into thin disks (so the weak can spoon them out) 3 tbs minced garlic 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes (Hunts preferred) 2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce (Hunts preferred) 2 (15 oz) cans black beans (or chili, kidney beans) (beans are optional) 2 packs McCormicks original chili seasoning (I need to break this down to component spices) 3 tbs steak sauce 4 drops liquid smoke (important to not exceed, see directions) 4 tbs brown sugar 8 tbs Frank's Hot Sauce 8 oz corn (optional, but I like corn) 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tbs chili powder 1 (12 oz) can of beer Directions Brown beef in skillet and drain fat Add onions, bell pepper, corn, garlic, and hot pepper. Simmer until onions are translucent. Add 1st packet of chili seasoning and stir. Simmer a few more minutes Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beer, and 2nd packet of chili seasoning and simmer a few minutes Add steak sauce, Frank's, cinnamon, brown sugar, and 1 tsp chili powder Pour 4 drops liquid smoke on spoon then add to chili. Do this with a spoon in case you pour too much, too much will ruin the chili. Cook on slow simmer for 2 hours Serving suggestions 1st Serving – Bowl of chili with oyster crackers 2nd Serving – Nachos with chili and cheddar cheese topping 3rd Serving – Chili spaghetti with parmesan cheese and garlic bread This makes a mild yet extremely flavorful chili that can be enjoyed by all, even children. Additional fire can be added on the side with your favorite pepper or hot sauce. Note: Make this recipe the first time exactly according to the above specifications before you make any changes. The only variations should be those ingredients labeled as optional. After you enjoy the original recipe, then adjust the ingredients according to your personal taste.
