ok so i will readilly admit that i am a total computer n00b but want to correct this, thinking about installing linux because i heard it is much better for operating and learning on, is this true and is it relativley easy to learn how to use?
I think ubuntu is about the easiest Linux distrobution that you can use, especially when you combine it with automatix . That might be a good place to start to ease you into Linux. Other distros are good too but might be a bit frustrating for a newbie. Linux does have a bit of a steep learning curve at first but it has gotten a lot better with many distros over the past year. You might want to check out Ubuntu for Non-Geeks. I have not read this book, but I started Linux with his first Linux for Non-Geeks book which used Fedora. It was really good for someone new to Linux so I assume he does a good job on this updated version.
Nate you're an idiot saying that Vista is bullshit especially when you know nothing about computers, and you are much more of an idiot for recommending I get Linux when you clearly have no idea what you're doing. I'll bet anything past sending an e-mail is too much for you to comprehend, at least when it comes to computers.
Download either Ubuntu or Linux mint live CD and try it. It doesn't touch your hard drive. I now prefer Mint.
