i think i might have made some of the best drinks i've had in a while tonight

first is vodka with izze sparkling clementine juice

then vodka mixed with a combination of 50% mango nectar and 50% pomegranate-blueberry juice

both were fucking kickass

 

wanna come over and be a bartender for me, i suck at making drinks. Thats probably why i stick to beer.

 

nice nesta!! That second one sounds really good. Im more like the guy that comes in and says, " wheres the keg?!?!?!??" Don't really like all the fancy shmancy drinks, just give me a good ol' beer and im happy.

Tho, if you use a quaff shot glass, i like this.....fill the bottom with vodka, top bubble gets 1part 7up or sprite and 1part grenadine.....we call em Red Eyes.......only takes a couple to get ya stumblin' Also had a shot called a chocolate covered cherry at the bar the other night. Had 3 different liquors, i know one was Carolins, not sure of the other two. But ill be damned if it didn't taste like a chocolate covered cherry.....$5 a shot tho...

 

yeah, usually i either drink beer or plain liquor, either neat or on the rocks.

there are only a few cocktails i drink on a semi-regular basis. i drink martinis fairly often, using either gin or vodka, preferring gin. my favorite is hendrick's, but its pretty pricey for gin at 30 bucks a bottle.

i also like mojitos a lot, but dont make them often as they take a lot of different ingredients...rum, soda water, fresh limes, fresh mint, sugar...and they're a lot of work to make. but they're fucking delicious.

a bit less labor instensive is cutting up some lime slices and layering between ice cubes. pour in a couple shots of gin and top with soda water (i fucking HATE tonic)

a tequila sunrise or a screwdriver are nice

and every once in a while i like a rum and coke if im drinking early in the day (shhh....dont tell!)

but usually its plain liquor or beer. sometimes wine. but i pretty much love beer, i just can really put it away too easily if its a lighter beer...drink a bit too much of em...i usually drink at home cause its so expensive to go to bars and my friends dont want to be the DD, so i just dont go to bars often. so when i drink mixed drinks, i gotta make them and mix them

 

oh, and a man has to enjoy his sake every now and again. and a few liqueurs...i love b&b and jagermeister

 

oh no!! how can you stand sake? lol. i tried it once and bout threw up. jager is good, do like the occasional rum and coke, and i've always had a weird thing for southern comfort.....after a bowl of some nice smoke a shot or two of so co is fukn tasty

 

i hate so co.

and some sake is really nasty, but some is really good. just like with grape wine there is a whole lot out there and a lot of variety in taste and quality, not to mention styles.

i am very uneducated about it, but there is some i like.

and hell, i'm not above drinking cheaper stuff like gekkeikan, sho chiku bai, and the infamous ozeki

haha, once at a friends 18th birthday party i drank almost a liter and a half of ozeky all by my lonesome. i did throw up, but it didnt stop me from having a good time, i felt great after, and no hangover....

most of the time i get good and drunk without realizing it and feel no ill effects the next day with sake.

but then, i've been getting hangovers more often lately and i havent had it in a while...so....famous last words, right?

 

haha yea!! i think the kind i tried was that ozeky kind....could be wrong but that sound right. I don't know, just didn't sit well with me at all. Im not above drinking cheaper beer, lol, you know......keystone light (fukn water), pabst blue ribbon, hamms, red dog, natural ice.....you know the ones. I absolutely hate fukn cheap 40's tho. like king cobra and the likes. Tho i did have a certain kind of hurricane that had a resemblence of budweiser....but still tasted like piss water.

 

i'll drink pbr and strohs before buweiser, miller, or coors. i'll drink any of those before nasty ice, red dog, or keystone...never seen hamms around, can't say.

i wish i could get yeungling where i live, because its lower cost but really pretty good. it would easily be my go-to affordable beer. unfortunately because it is NOT available, i tend to drink a lot of stroh's in between the high end stuff. sometimes...a LOT of strohs....

 

i was looking for a good picture of their can to post for no apparent reason when i stumbled across a tv ad for stroh's light. i'd never heard of stroh's light and never seen an ad for the company.

yeah i tend to drink ALOT of budweiser and bud light....doing good tho....haven't drank in...1, carry the 4........like 3 days......woohoo on a roll

 

I used to love soco, then I drank a fifth in one sitting a couple times and that was it

 

yeah i rarely buy it, but every now and again i get a wild hair and do a so co night, or two.

 

i'm drinking blueberry Stoli + 7up good shit

 

i've just got gordons vodka, but the sweetness of the juice really hides it well. gordons really isnt that bad for mixing. and mango is especially sweet usually.

not the best drinks i've ever had, but in a while....yeah. they're pretty tasty, and i'm buzzed

 

i tried that blueberry stoli....it was alright, but vodka isnt usually my thing unless its regular vodka that i personally find smooth and palatable in a vodka martini. i generally prefer gin. since there aren't many drinks i know how to make with gin that i enjoy, i generally use it for martinis or soda water. most mixed drinks i make with rum, sometimes whiskeys or tequila

anyway i thought the blueberry stoli was pretty good for a flavored vodka, but i did think it was slightly on the harsh side. just slightly. it is great for mixing though. i like regular stoli for martinis once in a while, but dont like it straight.

 

yea i'm definatly not usually a fan of flavoured vodka's but i've taken a liken to the blueberry stoli [for now]

also, recently our bar started stocking Absolut "Pears" which i'm very fond of as well

 

i have wanted to try that.

 

Try the Finlandia mango vodka...
