I have.. and do.. and yea.. i've seen my fair share of fights and broken up a few... I broke up a fight right quick once... not much a person wants to do when they see a 270lb guy come out of the kitchen with a 12" chefs knife

well by the sounds of it this guy was pretty tanked
and drunk guys never give up in my experience
so if you gave him a couple shots in the mouth i think its ok
especially when this guy swung at him first
and you never know what kind of guy this is
ive seen some real pussies fight at bars and ive seen some of the roughest guys fight at bars
you cant take anything for granted

Although I did browse over the post again and noticed I forgot to read an important part where he shoved you before all this started. I read it as, you grabbed and tried to force a drunk guy who was stupified.

Still, you should probably learn to fight a bit if your job calls for these kinds of altercations. Even if you're not a bouncer.

i've worked there for 2 years and this was the first confrontation of the kind, my job description really doesnt call for it

as for bragging on the internet, i was simply sharing a story as alot of the posts lately have been fighting, or wanting to fight involved.

hard to tell right, he may have came in late, may have just been sitting down gettin totally fucked up, may have been on drugs etc.

For a point for you morons who are trying to bash me, are you defending him because you get stupid when your drunk too? Do you go to bars and get so drunk that you need assistance in leaving? When you drink do you become agressive and look to start trouble?

I've been to almost every bar in Vancouver, even when i was younger and first started going at 18-19 NEVER have I gotten so drunk that I caused problems, NEVER have i become overly aggressive and gotten into a fight because of my drunkeness, NEVER have i been forcefully removed from a bar by anyone

Do you idiots not think that if your dumb enough to get that drunk anywhere else besides the safety of your home/friends HOME that you are just asking for trouble? that getting to the point where you can no longer tell right from wrong or make informed descisions probably isnt the best idea when the people running these establishments see a person like that as a threat, and have instructed bouncers/doormen to REMOVE THESE PEOPLE?!?

As well, if this was just sooo wrong, how come the cops, nor paramedics thought there was anything wrong with my actions?

A completely sober person, using their judgement and acting upon that after analyzing the situation and determining that a threat was involved in this persons actions towards myself over a person who could barely speak, and acted upon emotion trying to cause physical harm to myself..gee..I wonder who's descision was more feesible?

 

last time that kinda shit happened at me some drunk mother fuker threw a beer bottle and hit me in the head. needless to say the same result without the paramedics(havin a party). we just threw him in the back or a car and dumped him in ditch a couple miles down the road xD

 

1. I don't drink. I train martial arts (brazilian jujutsu and muay thai/lethwai) 5 days a week, and drinking would impair my performance.

2. Bouncers are trained to do their job in a way that will not physically harm patrons. Unless he was an immediate threat, which it doesn't sound like he was, the job should have been relegated to them.

3. The cops I've met haven't been the ones to condone excessive physical force.

i dont care if your superman, and you train in ninja techniques and laser weapons, wtf does what you do, have anything to do with this story? again you've just proved you have no experiance in the matter

these cops work the downtown Vancouver core, and on weekends 90% of the force is focused on the one strip where all the clubs and bars are, so obviously these officers/paramedics are experianced in this kinds of situations, yet again made no fuss over the matter
