100,000+ converge on D.C., 200 arrested, the Jena Six protests, teens getting tazered just for questioning the government, more civil unrest happening as we speak. Do you think our generation (Echo Boom, Generation Y) is finally starting to get involved, or is all of this just false hope?

I think a lot of people have had enough of this fucking war and we're finally gonna do something about it

I think a lot of us are starting to stand up. I mean, we're the ones who are going to have to live in the future that these facist dictators are laying out for us. So it makes sense that we would be pissed off.

    Peace,

I'm a bit older than this generation but I have a lot of younger friends and relatives, and I see more signs of young people getting involved in politics today than in a long time. A lot of music and television today is politicized so it's getting harder to ignore. This election has also been thus far interesting in that many leaders are reaching across the generation gap and into the internet to get young voters. The internet has also fostered a lot of initiatives that might have failed otherwise, like the online anti-partisan election at unity08.com. It's too early to say whether it's just false hope or not but I see a lot of people taking the opportunities that are out there.

What's important to your generation, free speech, individual rights and protections? or are you buying into this administration's promise to protect you? You can only protect yourself.

Just like my generation, modified, improved upon, re-created, and in many cases revolutionized the institutions, beliefs, values of previous generations

Each new generation should create their own path and do what's best for them.
No one is gonna do it for you. Best of luck.

I in fact do see a bit of an increased involvment from the EMO generation. Might just be the war though, ya know?

Well as for the question of weather our generation will ever amount to anything i say no. I mean iraq is no different than any of the other undeclared wars this country has fought. They gave no reasons for going to war that made any sense to me even before we went in. I mean come on sadaam having weapons of wmd's i mean really he didnt have them when we pushed his ass out of kuwait. Now years later he's supposed to be some imminent threat so we invade unprovoked. Point being if people are stupid enough to not realize history is repeating itself then i dont see any way this generation will ever make any impact on the world other than allowing its demise to hasten.
