i have acsess to a food dehydrater and ive read online that i can dehydrate the catcus and make a kind of jerky out of it and either grid it up after that and make tea or eat it liek jerky. This is gunna be my first trip on san pedro and i want to know whats the best way to go about preparing and dehydrating the cacti and how much will be enough to get me going? i live in central texas so i can jsut go out and cut some down.

    thx

Ew, most people aim to get the cactus down the hatch as quickly as possible, so they dont have to put up with the awful taste.
Just grind the dried cactus down into small pieces or powder and wash it down with some orange juice.

from what ive read cactus is usually about 90-95 % water and you would normally try maybe 20-30g for your first time so try about 300g of plant, will depend on the strength of your cactus though

Measure 12-24 inches of a cactus for one dose. Potency varys wildly, most people consider 12-15 inches as an average dose.
I didnt know San pedro grows wildly in Texas- are you sure about this, San pedro is from the northern andes- in Peru, in south America.

First, remember that the part you want is the dark green flesh immediately underneath the waxy skin.

If you were to put straight powdered cactus into water, you will get snot. Nothing you want to drink. If you boil it for 2 hours, it will break down the gel-like thickness.
